Raggle Block Patents (Class 52/59)
  • Patent number: 12077923
Abstract: During bridge construction, a form at the upper, outer edge of a bridge's outer girder, upper flange retains concrete slurry poured on the bridge's deck. The girder is cast with extended upper flanges, and the form is precast integrally with the flange. The improved girder may eliminate the need for a construction worker walkway.

  • Patent number: 10508450
Abstract: A kick out flashing includes a base for placement adjacent a roof, a sidewall for placement adjacent a wall by the roof, a first kick out wall angled away from the sidewall, an intermediate wall joined with the first kick out wall, distal from and optionally parallel to the sidewall, and a second kick out wall angled away from the intermediate wall, the second kick out wall distal from the sidewall and downstream from the first kick out wall. The sidewall, intermediate wall and a bottom wall can form a channel that receives a J channel or other wall covering. The first kick out wall can prevent water from traveling directly under the bottom wall and/or the channel, diverting it away from the sidewall. The second kick out wall can further divert water away from the channel and/or sidewall.

  • Patent number: 10214909
Abstract: A system and method of anchoring a roofing membrane to a vertical wall along the periphery of a flat roof. The roof membrane is partially extended up any peripheral wall that abuts the flat roof. A mounting plate is affixed to the peripheral wall with mechanical fasteners. A portion of the roofing membrane becomes locked between the mounting plate and the peripheral wall. A tubular structure is provided on the mounting plate that faces away from the roofing membrane. A cover plate is provided. The cover plate is mounted to the tubular structure on the mounting plate. The cover plate covers and protects the mounting plate and the edge of the roofing membrane under the mounting plate. The cover plate is attached with mechanical fasteners. The tubular structure provides room for the mechanical fasteners to terminate without compromising the mounting plate that is pressed against the roofing membrane.

  • Patent number: 8549793
Abstract: The present invention provides a flashing system for roof mounting equipment which reliably prevents water from reaching the substructure of the roof. The flashing system comprises a flashing plate having upper and lower surfaces, and at least one hole extending therethrough for receiving a fastener. A first seal is arranged at the lower surface of the flashing plate, and a second seal is arranged at the lower surface of the flashing plate surrounding the first seal, wherein the thickness of the first seal is greater than the thickness of the second seal. The thickness relation is provided when the flashing system is installed and both seals are compressed. A third seal, which receives the fastener therethrough, can be provided at the upper surface of the flashing plate.

  • Publication number: 20040093806
Abstract: A method of using flashing having a counter flashing member and preferably fabricated from one piece of material is described for weather proofing the juncture of a building at the edge of a sloped roof covered with shingles and a vertical wall covered with a masonry veneer. The flashing is positioned above the surface of the roof by resting it on a fabricated support positioned at the juncture so that the counter flashing member is extending downward to the roof surface overlapping the vertical flashing member of a shingle-based flashing, such as, step flashing protruding from and above the surface of the roof and flush with the support.

  • Patent number: 6421971
Abstract: An integral, pre-formed edge closure fabricated from a non-corrosive, durable material includes an anchoring flange for attachment to a roof structure, an upper flange, an intermediate panel spanning between the anchoring flange and the upper flange, a cant panel positioned at an acute angle relative to the upper flange to define a cant strip along a length of the edge closure, and a mounting strip above the cant panel for securing the edge closure to a concrete parapet or other adjoining vertical wall on a roof structure. The anchoring flange and upper flange are spaced apart for receiving a thickness of insulation of lightweight concrete therebetween. The intermediate panel is provided with vent holes for venting gasses and moisture which accumulate within the roof structure, thereby reducing the likelihood of premature roof failure.

  • Patent number: 6101767
Abstract: A structural termination system includes a one-piece elongated structural member having an outer wall and a horizontal bottom wall defining a lower surface having substantially the same contour as an upper surface of an associated building wall, wherein the building wall is characterized by the absence of a wood nailer structure adjacent the upper surface of the building wall. The structural member further includes a drip edge extending downwardly from the outer wall such that the outer wall and drip edge cooperate to define an integral fascia. Structural adhesive is disposed on the lower surface of the elongated structural member and securely bonds the structural member directly to an upper surface of an associated building wall without a wood nailer structure or mechanical fasteners along the structural member.
