    Abstract: A system and method for securing a roof truss to a load bearing wall is disclosed. A strap is attached to a roof truss at one end and extended to the top of a load-bearing wall. A buckle is placed over the strap to secure the strap between the buckle and the roof truss, and also the buckle and the load-bearing wall. The end of the strap is extended along the top of buckle toward the roof truss and a top plate secures the strap between the buckle and the top plate. Screws are placed through holes in the top plate and corresponding holes in the buckle to attach the system to the top of the load-bearing wall. The system and method of the invention provides both horizontal (lateral) resistance and uplift resistance, thus resisting horizontal (lateral) forces while at the same time providing uplift resistance.

Three point anchoring of the supports maintain them in vertical orientation and stop means prevent backward movement during storm surges. When flooding subsides the components can be cleaned, dried and returned to the housing. No tools or special skills are required to set up the wall and supports once the initial installation has been completed.

    Abstract: A foldable play yard apparatus is provided. The play yard includes a frame having a plurality of upright posts. The posts have a top, a bottom, and a clamp connected to at least one longitudinal side of the post. The play yard further includes a flexible enclosure having a plurality of edges inserted in the clamps to form walls between the upright posts. The clamp includes: a housing having an opening for receiving the edge of the enclosure and defining an interior channel within the housing; a flag piece, which is positioned in the interior channel of the housing, connected to the edge of the enclosure; and a locking piece positioned across the interior channel from the flag piece. A frictional engagement between the locking piece and the flag piece maintains the flag piece and the edge connected thereto within the interior channel.

The framing mechanism is typically adjustable poles or an adjustable frame apparatus having a plurality of height adjustable vertical legs. The flexible plastic encapsulating container is positioned and supported by the adjustable poles or frame. The container has at least one open-end for surrounding the contaminated work-piece, and the open-end of the container is adhered to the work-area and substantially surrounds and seals off the contaminated work-piece from the interior portions of the work site.
