    Abstract: A lattice girder generally including a top rail, a bottom rail, vertical end posts and slanted crossbeams, wherein all of the members consist of uniform hollow sections that may be fitted into one another and thereby rigidly interconnected. The girder rail consists of two half-sections (18,19) internally provided with longitudinal flanges (20, 21) having transverse serrations so that the two half-sections may be permanently secured to one another by pressing them together with the serrations in mutual engagement. The end of a slanted crossbeam (24) having notches (at 25 and 26) is inserted into openings (22,23) in the half-sections to lock and engage the rail. Weldless lattice girders may thus be produced, in particular for forming a walkway guardrail.

Each vertical support is formed by three studs that are connected together by bands that wrap around the studs so as to sandwich the middle stud between inner and outer studs.

    Abstract: Bridging is provided for use in joining joists or like construction elements so as to increase the strength and stability of those elements. The present invention utilizes flexible strapping to create the bridging structure, wherein a first flexible strap is attached to a first joist and a second flexible strap is attached to a second joist. The bridging structure is created by aligning the straps between the joists and joining the straps together. The various flexible straps can be directly attached to the joists, however when applied to wooden joists, stiffened supports are preferably positioned between the joists and the flexible strapping. The stiffened supports spread the force of the flexible strapping and prevent the strapping from deforming the material of the joist. To add to the integrity of the bridging structure, the stiffened supports can be mechanically or adhesively joined to the joists and the flexible strapping can be mechanically or adhesively joined to the stiffened supports and joists.

    Abstract: A self-jigging web for fastening two steel chords together to form a beam. There are different sizes of webs for assembly of beams of different depths. A web has several holes for locating screws for fastening the web to a pair of chords parallel to each other. Chords having the same outer cross-section but of different steel gauges are used to obtain beams of different strengths. Assembled beams are used in a frame of a building structure such as a wall, floor or ceiling. A system is provided such that a building designer, given the wind bearing (bending) and axial loads required to be borne by the structure, can determine beam spacing and beam depth required for the structure to bear the loads. Beams are then assembled to meet the determined requirements according to a standard set of instructions which detail the chord steel gauge, size of web, number and spacing of webs lengthwise along a beam, and a number and placement of screws for fastening each web to a pair of chords.

The hold down strap is held between two truss elements, such as a web member intersecting with a lower chord of the truss. The hold down strap is secured to the truss by a nailing plate which can be one of the same nailing plates used to connect other elements of the truss together. The nailing plate teeth penetrate the hold down strap and one of the truss elements to secure the strap to the truss for shipment to a construction site. The hold down strap extends from between the truss elements down into engagement with the wall on which the truss rests where it may be secured to the wall.

The coplanar relationship of the struts serve as a visual gauge that the form with tie has been properly manufactured and assures that the end trusses extend throughout the width of each sidewall. End ties having a height of one-half of the form sidewall are extended between the sidewalls at the ends of each form.
