  • Patent number: 8769909
Abstract: A frame for a panel is constructed from two frame components. One of the frame components has a first wall and a first channel and the second frame component has a second wall and a second channel. The first frame component is mated to the second frame component with the first wall of the first frame component inserted in and making frictional contact with the second channel of the second frame component and the second wall of the second frame component inserted in and making frictional contact with the first channel of the first frame component. Portions of the panel are held between and make contact with the first frame component and the second frame component such that an end of the panel is located within a chamber defined between the first frame component and the second frame component.

Abstract: A modular wall panel system including a series of wall panels connectable to each other. Each of the wall panels is formed from a support frame having a pair of spaced vertical posts and an upper header and a lower sill extending between the vertical posts. The lower sill is received within attachment notches formed in each of the vertical posts near the bottom end of each post. The attachment notches are spaced along the length of the vertical post such that the position of the sill can be adjusted. The lower sill includes a trim channel that receives the bottom of a tile mounted to the support frame. A top cap is attached to the header and engages a top end of the tile to aid in retaining the tile on the support frame. The tile may be a segmented tile having a lower portion and an upper portion joined to each other by a segmented trim channel. The segmented trim channel between the upper and lower portions is not connected to the support frame.

The foot or base (16') is a second part (2'), which carries a second sealing lip (15') in contact with the other side of the pan (7'), fits into the recess. When the foot (16') is inserted into the recess (13'), the two sealing lips (6'15') are elastically deformed and pressed against the pane (7'). The inserted foot has a groove (19, 22) at one end in which a rib (14') engages. The foot (16') and hence the part ( 2') are thus firmly anchored in the main part (1').

Abstract: Construction methods and clip apparatus for joining or repairing wall or ceiling panels such as sheet rock, gypsum boards, plywood, or other generally planar wall panels. The clip is enables permanent edgewise joining of wallboard panels, ceiling panels, or the like at any desired position along the length of the wall frame or ceiling framework independent of framing back- up studs or joists. A plurality of metallic clips unite to provide an edgewise mechanical bond between adjacent panel edges by creating an artificial backing in wall regions having no studs or support columns. A preferred clip comprises a generally planar, elongated body having a pair of parallel reinforcement grooves, and body is preferably stamped from metal stock and selectively perforated. A pair of integral, spaced apart, prong-like spring tab structures formed on opposite sides of the clip body initially grasp the edges of a panel.

  • Patent number: 4909013
Abstract: A modular wall system adapted for use as part of a clean room structure, comprising a plurality of unibody panel sections, each panel section having a uniform width and including an exterior face, an interior face, and laterally opposing assembly flanges extending along the length of each edge of the panel section. Each assembly flange includes (i) a flange side wall extending inward from the interior face, (ii) an interlocking member adapted to be engaged with another interlocking member of a separate panel to secure the two flanges together, and (iii) a sealing member for sealing openings between coupled assembly flanges. A support channel configured in size and shape for snug fit around the coupled assembly flanges includes a channel cap and side channel walls which extend for equal lengths sufficient to abut against the interior faces of the coupled panel sections. These side walls operate as spacer members for aligning panel sections as the assembly flanges are secured within the support channel.

Means are provided for permanently joining the edges of wallboard panels, ceiling panels, or the like at any desired position along the length of the wall frame or ceiling framework independent of framing backup studs or joists. Each embodiment of the invention contemplates the use of a plurality of metallic clips adapted to provide a working union or edgewise mechanical bond between adjacent panel edges, by creating an artificial backing in wall regions having no studs or support columns. A preferred clip comprises a generally planar, elongated body having a pair of parallel of reinforcement grooves, and the whole body is preferably stamped from perforated metal stock. • Patent number: 4774792
Abstract: The disclosed apparatus comprises an outfit of frames of tubular steel, display boards, and securing clips. Some of the clips are frame-to-frame clips, which have symmetrical snap-on C-shaped profiles. Others of the clips are frame-to-board clips, which have one snap-on profile, and one channel shaped profile to grip the board. Still others of the clips are frame to flat surface clips which have one snap on profile, and one flat surface. The resulting modular exhibition display panels are versatile as to their design, and readily adjustable if it should turn out that some changes are needed. The panels are markedly light in weight yet can be strong enough to survive being erected, dismantled, transported, and rebuilt many times.
