Patent number: 5222339Abstract: Apparatus for use in integrating multiple glass panels into a latticed-type structure (e.g., a door or window). The structure is a light-admitting, unified entity and includes a muntin which is positioned between two adjacent, coplanar glass panels. The Muntin carries a flange which is generally parallel to a plane defined by the glass panels, the flange being in engagement with first sides of the panels. A cap is positioned overlying the Muntin on a side of the glass panels opposite that on which the flange is disposed. The cap is positioned immediately adjacent, and in engagement with, second sides of the glass panels. Structure is provided to secure the cap to the Muntin in a manner such that visible surfaces of the cap and the flange are not marred. Securement is effected in a manner so that the glass panels are sandwiched between the cap and flange.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1991Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignee: Marvin Lumber and Cedar Co.Inventors: Leslie B. Patent number: 5146724Abstract: A two-part clamping assembly and method for applying the clamping assembly to intersecting I-beams is disclosed. The clamping assembly is particularly beneficial at uniting the undercarriage I-beams of a mobile dwelling to intersectingly smaller I-beams of an auxiliary support system, during moderate and/or severe seismic disturbances. The clamping assembly includes a two-part connector designed to tightly engage the upper flange of the lower and smaller I-beam in such a manner that a clamp-lip horizontally protrudes over and is parallel to the bottom flange of the upper undercarriage I-beam. The clamp-lip is engaged at the bottom flange to the undercarriage I-beam, in the event of an earthquake, enabling the undercarriage I-beams to pickup the auxiliary support system. At the cessation of quake conditions, the undercarriage I-beams are reposited to the I-beam of the auxiliary and emergency support system.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1991Date of Patent: September 15, 1992Assignee: Intertrack Management, Inc.Inventor: Arthur Angelo

Patent number: 5065562Abstract: A sealing and fastening system secures a pair of adjoining panels to a frame structure of a greenhouse. The system includes a coupling having a generally "H" shape and forming a pair of transversely spaced pockets, one edge of each panel being disposed in a corresponding pocket. A fastener operatively engages the coupling and has a wrap adapted to be disposed about a member of the frame structure to secure the coupling to the frame structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1990Date of Patent: November 19, 1991Assignee: The Standard Products CompanyInventors: Douglas C. Patent number: 4937994Abstract: In the case of a counter-ceiling comprising a suspended supporting skeleton consisting of intersecting longitudinal and transverse supporting rails of substantially T-shaped cross-section, it is proposed to implement the joints between the rails at the points of intersection by providing that the T-shaped section of each supporting rail comprises a longitudinal hollow space in the vertical main web, and by inserting the central mounting web of separate connection elements of likewise T-shaped configuration into the longitudinal hollow space of a first supporting rail, and fastening at least one of the base webs of the connection elements at the outside of the vertical main web or a perpendicularly extending supporting rail.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1988Date of Patent: July 3, 1990Inventor: Albrecht Ritter

Patent number: 4873809Abstract: A ceiling tile hold down clip which clips over the top horizontal portion of cross supports in a suspended ceiling system. Retaining arms with extending lower portion bear against the upper portion of the ceiling tile. Locking arms with an inwardly directed lip portion prevent easy removal of the clip.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1988Date of Patent: October 17, 1989Inventor: Harold J. Paul

Patent number: 4833858Abstract: An apparatus for joining panel members into walls or divider is provided which does not require the use of a wet sealant to close the gap between adjacent panels and which allows thermal expansion and/or contraction of the panel members to be absorbed by the joints. The apparatus includes a channel for receiving turned down edges of adjacent panel members. The channel has interlocking portions for engaging mating portions on the panel edges and locking them into position. An insert is positioned within the channel between the edges to hold the interlocking and mating portions in engagement. The insert has protruding surfaces for wedging the portions together and a neck shaped portion for joining the insert to a cap or gasket for sealing the gap between the panel members. The cap or gasket includes a hollow interior portion for receiving the shaped portion of the insert and a pair of shoulders for retaining the shaped portion within the hollow portion.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 1987Date of Patent: May 30, 1989Assignee: Dunmon CorporationInventor: Douglas Hutchison

Patent number: 4730429Abstract: A window construction is disclosed wherein a unitary vinyl seal 36, corresponding in shape to the window sash 20 and frame 18, is employed to seal the translucent panes 28, 30, 31, etc., in position. Double-backed adhesive foam tape strips 38, 40, 42, 44, 45, 46, etc., serve to sealingly bond vinyl seal 36, 36a, and 66 to the translucent panes, the associated sash 20 and frame 18 structure. Replacement of broken panes involves cutting around the periphery of the broken pane (FIGS. 6 and 7), removing the cut segment, installing a replacement pane and sealing it in position. The same segment of vinyl seal 36 removed, or a new seal 66 cut or formed to the same dimensions as the segment cut away, is employed to seal the replacement pane 28a in position. Sealing of the new seal (FIG. 7) is accomplished by an essentially triangular strip of adhesive foam tape 68 having adhesive on all surfaces thereof. Similar replacement seals can also be formed from the embodiments illustrated in FIGS.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1986Date of Patent: March 15, 1988Inventor: Gary W. Roberts
