  • Patent number: 7748173
Abstract: A roof edging system includes an anchor bar, an extension cleat attachable to the anchor bar, and a cover plate applied over the anchor bar and extension cleat. The anchor bar may be of a generally uniform size and shape and the extension cleat may be of varying sizes. The anchor bar and extension cleat are secured to the exterior of the building using fasteners inserted through a number of apertures in each member. The engagement of the anchor bar with the roof provides a waterproof seal between a roofing membrane placed on the roof and the anchor bar. The extension cleat provides a means to vary the overall length of the assembly. A durable cover plate may then be attached over the anchor bar and extension cleat to provide an aesthetically pleasing appearance to the periphery of the roof of the building.

Abstract: Disclosed is a flashing for weatherproofing an aperture made in an inclined roof to allow passage of a vertical member such as chimney through the inclined roof. This flashing has a base member adapted to be mounted over the aperture and a surrounding member that is tubular in shape and extends upwardly from the base member to fit around the vertical member. The base member comprises a covering panel of quadrilateral shape having a top edge adapted to be positioned on an upper part of the inclined roof, a bottom edge adapted to be positioned on a lower part of the inclined roof, two opposite side edges and an opening large enough to allow passage of the vertical member therethrough. A bottom side wall projects downwardly from the bottom edge of the covering panel and two lateral side walls respectively extend downwardly from the opposite side edges of the covering panel and sidewardly from the bottom side wall in a tapering fashion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a flashing member for a roof-penetrating structure, comprising a first flashing portion (2) adapted to provide a seal against a roof and a second flashing portion (3) adapted to provide a seal between the first flashing portion and the roof penetrating structure. The first and second portions (2, 3) are interconnected in the mounted state, so that the flashing member provides a seal between the roof and the roof penetrating structure. In the state of delivery, the first and second portions (2, 3) of the flashing member are interconnected with each other in sliding engagement allowing the relative position between the first and second flashing portions to be adjusted during the mounting process. Adjusting means may comprise a first folded over part (11) creating a first narrow fold (13) on the first sheet portion (4) and a second folded-over part (14) creating a second narrow fold (16) on the second sheet portion (6), the two folds (13, 16) meshing with each other.

Abstract: A channel profile extends above a door of an aircraft over the width of the door opening and is connected with the aircraft fuselage. When the door is open, the channel profile collects liquid (e.g. rain) flowing down from above the door, and diverts it next to the door opening. To reduce the air flow resistance arising during flight operation, with the door (2) in its closed position, the channel profile (3, 30) is retracted and enclosed behind the outer skin (6) or a flange of the door (2) in a dead space (11) between the upper edge of the door (2) and a frame (4) arranged above the door opening. When the door is opened, the channel profile extends into an outwardly protruding position on spring-loaded guides.

The insert comprises a substantially planar portion defining dimensions suitable to complement dimensions of a pre-cast panel form and a fluid diverting portion. The fluid diverting portion is configured to define a fluid-diverting recess in an edge face of a pre-cast panel bounded by a form including the form insert. The fluid diverting portion is configured such that said fluid diverting recess defines, a circular cross-sectional profile, or a multi-angular cross-sectional profile, that impedes the flow of water along said pre-cast panel edge face when said edge face assumes a substantially horizontal orientation.
