Ether Group Patents (Class 522/181)
  • Patent number: 4876322
Abstract: Linear fluorooligomers having at least two reactive end groups per polymer molecule are incorporated into radiation sensitive polymer systems which have improved continuous temperature resistance and low dielectric constant. The polymer systems can be applied as lacquers. Preferably perfluorated poly-ethers and perfluorated alkanes are used as starting compounds. The polymeric product is usable as a coating for the production of printed multi-layer wirings and economises on through-bores and additional copper intermediate layers. A further field of application exists in the field of integrated semiconductor circuits in VLSI-technology for the production of negative photo-resists.

  • Patent number: 4854666
Abstract: This invention provides a photosetting resin composition suitable as a coating material for optical transmission glass fibers. Owing to the inclusion of a urethane-modified (meth)acrylate and a monoacrylate represented by the following general formula [I]:CH.sub.2 .dbd.CHCO(OC.sub.2 H.sub.4).sub.n OCH.sub.2 CH(C.sub.2 H.sub.5)(CH.sub.2).sub.3 CH.sub.3 [I]wherein n stands for an integer of 1-8, the photosetting resin composition enjoys a high photosetting speed and permits the formation of a coating film of a low modulus of elasticity. Moroever, the modulus of elasticity of the coating film has small temperature dependency at low temperatures. The present invention can hence provide light-transmitting glass fibers having excellent characteristics in optical transmission. The preferred monomer has been identified in the resin parts as 2-ethyl hexoxy ethyl acrylate, and also as 2-(2-ethylhexoxy) ethyl acrylate, and further as 2-[(2-ethylhexyl)oxy]ethyl acrylate.

  • Patent number: 4632944
Abstract: A polymerizable fluid for sealing and locking engineering parts contains components which allow 2 mechanisms of polymerization, the first of the mechanisms being initiatable by radiation such as ultraviolet light, and an opacifier such as a powder dispersed in the fluid, the opacifier rendering the fluid opaque to the radiation. A coating of the fluid is applied to one of the engineering parts and the coating is exposed to the radiation which initiates the first of said polymerization mechanisms, so that polymerization occurs only in a surface layer of the coating to form a dry tack free crust thereon. Due to the presence of the opacifier, the radiation is obstructed from passing beyond the surface layer and the subcutaneous fluid is unaffected by the radiation. The second polymerization mechanism, suitably a free radical addition polymerization of known type, is initiatable when two engineering parts are assembled together.
