  • Patent number: 8076390
Abstract: The present invention provides a composition for use as an antifouling agent and a method of decreasing fouling of a surface in a marine environment. The composition is a polymeric matrix, the polymeric matrix comprising subunits of at least one structural monomer and at least one ionic monomer. The ionic monomer comprising a salt, that is an anion that is a conjugate base of an acid having a pKa less than about 9 and at least one cation that is a cationic biocide. One embodiment includes guanidinium counterions that undergo ion exchange to slowly release a biocidal component.

Abstract: A custom color paint or stain tinting system employs a dark-colored non-infrared-absorptive liquid base paint or stain and a point-of-sale array of concentrated liquid colorants which when dispensed into the base paint or stain provide custom-tinted non-infrared-absorptive paints or stains in lightened shades and a variety of tints. Dark custom-tinted paints or stains are tinted lighter from a dark-colored base, not darker from a white or light colored base as is done in conventional point-of-sale systems.

  • Publication number: 20110287263
Abstract: The present invention relates to a filler material for a floor, comprising a natural base material and a mixture containing loess and a resin in powder or pellet form, as well as to a method for producing the filler material. The filler material of the present invention uses the natural base material and is thus environmentally-friendly and not harmful to the human body. Further, in the event rice husks are used as the natural base material, a person slipping on the floor is protected from burning caused by friction as the rice husks have a high moisture content. In addition, the loess contained in the filler material keeps the floor from becoming moldy and emits far infrared radiation, and therefore is beneficial to the human body. The resin emulsion of the filler material prevents the natural base material from generating dust, thus preventing dust from entering the human body via the respiratory organs of the human body.
