    Abstract: There are provided a resin composition that is suitable for an optical component which, while maintaining moldability, low birefringence, heat resistance, mass productivity, mechanical strength, and light transmittance, hardly exhibits a low light transmittance during the use of a blue-violet laser beam source and a deterioration in optical properties, and an optical component produced by molding the resin composition, and a optical pickup device using the optical component. The present invention provides a resin composition comprising 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of the specific hindered amine compound based on 100 parts by weight of the polymer having an alicyclic structure in at least a part of repeating structural unit, an optical component produced by molding the resin composition, and a optical pickup device using the optical component.
