Chalcogen Other Than Directly Bonded To P Patents (Class 524/131)
  • Patent number: 4639475
Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive stick of an adhesive resin dissolved and/or dispersed in an aqueous solvent system and containing a gel-forming component and, if desired, other standard additives. The new adhesive stick is characterized in that its adhesive layers applied by rubbing onto a receiving surface show permanently tacky pressure-sensitive adhesive properties and in that the stick contains the reaction product of sorbitol and/or xylitol and benzaldehyde as the gel-forming component and, as adhesive resin, a reaction mixture from the reaction of methyl vinyl ether/maleic acid anhydride copolymers with partially neutralized acid phosphate esters of nonionic wetting agents of the lower alkylene oxide adduct type.

  • Patent number: 4539355
Abstract: Phosphorus-containing compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R.sup.3 is a lower alkyl or phenyl group. These compounds may be used as stabilizers against the action of heat, light and oxygen for organic substances and especially polyolefin resins. These phosphorus-containing compounds may be used in conjunction with other stabilizers such phenol-type and sulfur-containing antioxidants, especially in polyolefin resin compositions to produce a polyolefin resin composition having excellent resistance to light, heat and oxygen. The present invention also relates to a method of producing the compounds of the aforementioned formula by reacting ##STR2## with a disubstituted phosphonate of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are as defined above.

  • Patent number: 4496687
Abstract: The invention provides a novel organopolysiloxane-containing aqueous emulsion composition which, upon removal of water by drying at room temperature, can give a cured rubbery elastomer having excellent mechanical properties and exhibiting strong adhesion to the substrate on which it has been cured. The inventive composition is prepared by blending (A) an aqueous emulsion of an organopolysiloxane having silicon-bonded hydroxy groups and emulsified in water by use of an anionic surface active agent, (B) a mixture of a reaction product of a carboxylic acid anhydride with an amino-functional organosilane and a colloidal silica in the form of an aqueous suspension and (C) a curing catalyst in limited proportions.

  • Patent number: 4444930
Abstract: The invention relates to a fire-resistant synthetic resin composition containing a polycarbonate, more specifically a bisphenol A derivative, a phosphorous fireproofing additive derived from phosphonic acid, and possibly other additives and/or fillers. The fireproofing additive is a Li, Na or K hemiester of a phosphonic acid derived from an aromatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon, or from a polynuclear aromatic compound, and is added at the rate of 0.01 to 0.4 weight % in relation to polycarbonate. This small amount of additive improves the fire-resistant properties of the polycarbonate, without affecting its mechanical properties.
