Abstract: This invention relates to hot melt adhesive compositions which include a neutralized sulfonated 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene resin which has about 5 to about 25 meq. of neutralized sulfonate groups per 100 grams of the neutralized sulfonated 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene, and about 25 to about 250 parts by weight of a hydrocarbon resin of a petroleum or coal tar distillate, having about 5 to about 6 carbon atoms the hydrocarbon resin being composed of aliphatic dienes and monoolefins per 100 parts by weight of the neutralized sulfonated 1,2-syndiotactic polybutadiene polymer.
Abstract: A composite material comprising polyvinyl chloride, talc and a polyamide and/or amide compound is disclosed. The talc used is comprised of 85% or more by weight of particles having a diameter of 10 microns or less. The polyamide used has a softening point of less than 200.degree. C. The amide compound used is in preference alkylene bis-amide or methylolated aliphatic amide. The composite material contains up to 30 parts by weight of the polyamide or the amide compound per 100 parts by weight of the talc used. The disclosed polyvinyl chloride composite material has an improved impact strength and improved thermal stability.
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate resin compositions containing filler or reinforcing agent, a selected sodium or potassium salt of a hydrocarbon acid or a salt of a selected organic polymer containing pendant carboxyl groups, and a selected low molecular weight organic ester, ketone, sulfone, sulfoxide, nitrile or amide. Articles molded from the compositions have high gloss when molded at temperatures below 110.degree. C.
Abstract: Use of a selected alkali metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid has been found to impart good crystallization and mold release properties to polyethylene terephthalate molding blends.
Abstract: A blend of nylon and ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer is provided which is suitable for conversion into films having desirable levels of strength and toughness, and good oxygen barrier properties. In addition, the blend exhibits enhanced adhesive qualities, as compared to films of EVOH copolymer per se, thus better adapting it for use in multilayer films. Methods for fabricating the resin blend into bare and composite films are also provided.

Abstract: A heat-sensitive recording composition with an improved image stability comprises 3-(N-methylcyclohexylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane, 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol capable of color-developing the fluorane through reaction by heating, fatty acid amide as a sensitizer and water-insoluble modified phenol resin having a softening point of 80.degree. to 190.degree. C., where at least 20% by weight of N-monosubstituted fatty acid amide is contained on the basis of total fatty acid amide, and 5 to 50% by weight of the water-insoluble, modified phenol resin is contained on the basis of the 4,4'-isopropylidenediphenol.
