This permits the surfactant to continuously replenish at the surface of the adhesive as other surfactant is removed, such as when it is carried away by an aqueous sample flowing over that surface in an in-vitro diagnostic device, resulting in adhesive compositions that are inherently hydrophilic on their surfaces and do not rely on the bloom mechanism of known hydrophilic adhesives. • Publication number: 20140216300
Abstract: A water-based ink for use in a computer-to-plate inkjet printing and a preparation method therefor. A polymer of 5 to 40 wt %, an additive of 0.01 to 10 wt %, a dye or pigment of 0.01 to 10 wt %, an organic solvent of 1 to 30 wt %, an anti-foaming agent of 0 to 5 wt %, and deionized water are stirred and mixed at room temperature. When the polymer is dissolved, the mixed solution is filtered. The filtrate is the water-based ink. The water-based ink is sprayed via a computer-to-plate machine onto a surface of a metal substrate (which may be an aluminum plate, a zinc plate, or a copper plate) to form a graphic region. A printing plate allowing for computer-to-plate printing is acquired after solidification. The printing plate acquired is allowed to achieve a halftone dot reproduction rate between 2 and 99% and a recognition rate of 175 lpi.

  • Patent number: 8772388
Abstract: The invention relates to a waterborne high solids emulsion resin system that can be formulated in a way to provide excellent water proofing, chemical resistance, scratch and mar resistance, resistance to hot tire pickup, while minimizing the possibility of osmotic blistering and being able to use any desired cosolvent to produce a one-coat, clear, high gloss coating or sealant for wood, cement, concrete, stone, stucco and cement-based substrates. Preferably, the resin system comprises ultra-fine particles of a hydrophobic acrylic latex copolymer resin having a high Tg temperature and a low coalescent demand that can produce a final coating or sealant at VOCs of 50 g/l or less. The acrylic resin is combined with an additional water resistance additive formed from an silane/siloxane emulsion blend of a type and amount that provides additional water resistance while simultaneously allowing water vapor pressure in the substrate to pass through the coating.

  • Patent number: 8754155
Abstract: A solid composition for releasing active silicone ingredients contains a cationic polymer, an active silicone ingredient and optionally a thickener and a carrier. The cationic polymer is preferably a homopolymer or a copolymer. The cationic polymer has higher water solubility at neutral pH than at a basic pH of 9-11. Granular encapsulated compositions can be prepared by using the solid silicone-releasing composition as a component in a laundry detergent powder, tablet or bar. This is particularly of interest for the delivery of silicone ingredients in the rinse cycle of a laundry operation.
