Abstract: The method of modifying an organic material including rubber and plastics which consists in the steps of embodying in the organic material during manufacture of the glycerato-zinc complex (C.sub.3 H.sub.6 O.sub.3 Zn) which is manufactured by heating a zinc compound and glycerol to a temperature below the boiling point of the glycerol to form crystals having substantial two-dimensional extension but low thickness and orientating the crystals selectively to improve tensile strength and reduce ultraviolet light degradation of the organic material.
Abstract: An oxymethylene polymer composition which exhibits improved thermal stability is provided by utilizing as a stabilizer a major amount of superpolyamide and a minor amount of a transition metal salt.
Abstract: Particulate and fibrous metal are disclosed to improve the physical properties of poly(1,4-butylene terephthalate) resin molding compositions.
Abstract: A polyester block copolymer composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyester block copolymer and 0.05 to 10 parts by weight of a metal alcoholate of the formula: M(OR).sub.n, wherein M is a metal of the groups I to III in periodic table, R is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and n is 1 to 3, said polyester block copolymer composition having improved melt properties and being suitable for producing various shaped articles by extrusion molding.

Abstract: A polyester which when made into an article such as films, containers, bottles and the like has a very high clarity, a low haze value, and a neutral hue. In the preparation of the resin, an antimony catalyst is utilized along with small amounts of a bluing agent such as a cobalt compound and a phosphate compound with the phosphate compound generally being slightly in excess of an equivalent amount of the cobalt compound. The polyester is made from dicarboxylic acids and preferably aromatic acids such as terephthalic acid reacted with polyhydric alcohols.

Abstract: Disclosed are organopolysiloxane compositions comprising an aminofunctional organopolysiloxane, a surfactant, an organotitanate, --zirconate or --germanate, an organic acid and water. These compositions having a pH of from 2.5 to less than 7.0, are useful for treating fibers to durably provide desirable characteristics, such as crease resistance, softness, elongation recovery and water repellency.
Abstract: A synthetic resin composition is prepared by mixing various polymers which differ, above all, in their second order transition temperature; the composition can also contain a filler, an epoxide resin and an alcoholate. The composition is preferably obtained in the form of granules, the particle diameter being within the range from 1 to 10 mm. It is used as a starting material for the production of vibration-damping sheets.
