Publication number: 20100084102Abstract: To effectively impart sizing performance to paper, while reducing the amounts of an internal sizing agent and aluminum sulfate, the invention provides as a papermaking additive a mixture of a cationic copolymer having a hydrophobic group whose quarterization ratio is 40% by mole or more, or an amphoteric copolymer having a hydrophobic group which has the same quarterization ratio as above, and in which the ratio of the anion equivalent to the cation equivalent is 0.1 to 90%, and a filler (a pretreated filler). The pretreated filler is one in which suitable water repellency is imparted to the filler. Hence, by adding this to pulp slurry, followed by a wet papermaking, the pretreated filler is efficiently adsorbed onto pulp fibers having anionic property, so that effective sizing performance can be imparted to the paper by using a smaller amount thereof than the internal sizing agent, while reducing the amounts of the internal sizing agent and the aluminum sulfate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2008Publication date: April 8, 2010Inventors: Kazunari Sakai, Tomohiko Nakata, Yoshiharu Hashiguchi, Takashi Yamaguchi, Masaki Ito, Yasunobu Ooka

This latex gives a dip-formed article exhibiting good softness of touch, high tensile strength and good retention of close fittingness.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2003Date of Patent: September 25, 2007Assignee: Zeon CorproationInventors: Hisanori Ota, Shunjin Aihara, Kazumi Kodama

Patent number: 7235597Abstract: The present invention relates to a styrenic thermoplastic resin composition, and more particularly to a styrenic thermoplastic resin composition comprising a non-halogen flame-retardant having superior flame-retarding properties and impact strength. The present invention provides a flame-retarding styrenic thermoplastic resin composition comprising a) 100 weight parts of a base resin comprising i) 10 to 50 weight parts of a rubber-modified styrenic-containing graft copolymer, ii) 5 to 20 weight parts of phenol novolac resin, and iii) 20 to 70 weight parts of a styrene-containing copolymer; and b) 5 to 20 weight parts of an aromatic phosphate. In addition, the a) base resin may further comprise iv) 10 to 40 weight parts of a thermoplastic polyurethane resin.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2002Date of Patent: June 26, 2007Assignee: LG Chem, Ltd.Inventors: Sung-Ho Lee, Chan-Hong Lee, Yong-Yeon Hwang, Ki-Young Nam, Tae-Hak Kim

Patent number: 7176260Abstract: The invention is the manipulation of the zinc oxide content and sulfur content of nitrile butadiene rubbers and selected vulcanization conditions that can be achieved economically with common production facilities. The manipulation of these components affects the relaxation property of gloves formed by this material. Produced are gloves that have a relaxation property, higher than 50%, and a low modulus (approximately 3 Mpa). The glove maintains decent ultimate tensile strength (>20 Mpa) and elongation (>500%). The glove is produced by a vulcanization process, which lasts from 5 to 60 minutes at temperatures ranging from 300° F. to 400° F. The tensile strength and elongation are well above the ASTM requirements for medical gloves. The current ASTM requirements are ASTM D412-92. Thanks to sufficient vulcanization, the films produced provide satisfactory protection from viral penetration. The tearing strength is also better because of the lower modulus.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 2004Date of Patent: February 13, 2007Assignee: Microflex CorporationInventor: Jian Tao

Patent number: 7173087Abstract: A hydrogenated nitrite rubber composition for providing a cross-linked product having a 20% modulus of 10 MPa or more and a thermal conductivity of 0.4 W/m·K or more at 25° C. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition includes 100 parts by weight of hydrogenated nitrile rubber having a bound acrylonitrile content of 40% or more, a polymer Mooney viscosity ML1+4 (100° C.) of 75 or less (median) as determined according to JIS K-6395, an iodine value of 23 or less (median), and at least 110 parts by weight in sum total of carbon black as a filler and other gas shielding filler. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition can effectively be used as a molding material for sliding applications or for a static sealing members for highly permeable gases. The hydrogenated nitrile rubber composition has a distinguishing carbon dioxide gas shieldability, heat resistance, and wear characteristics.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2003Date of Patent: February 6, 2007Assignee: NOK CorporationInventors: Hideyuki Tokumitsu, Takuya Yamanaka
