Abstract: Polymer blends and/or adducts obtainable from protein hydrolysates and/or gelatins used as raw material for the manufacture of regenerated leather and fabrics. Polymer adducts and/or blends conveniently prepared, tanned and finished can replace natural leather or fabric in the manufacture of clothing and consumer articles with particular technological properties.
Abstract: A cell adhesion solution of a cross-linked polymer for substrates includes an amino acid polymer, a buffered cross-linking agent, and deionized water (DI H2O). In one example, the amino acid polymer is selected from a neutral or basic amino acid, such as poly l-lysine or poly l-arginine. In another example, the amino acid polymer includes poly l-lsine. In another example, the amino acid polymer includes poly l-lsine of molecular weight of 100,000 or higher. The cross-linking agent can be selected from an aldehyde functional group, a buffered formaldehyde solution or a 10% neutral buffered formalin solution.
Abstract: Affinity macroligands (AML) comprising a reversibly water soluble poly-N-alkylacrylamide linked to a ligand, and their use in the separation of a target substance from a mixture comprising the target substance and other materials are disclosed. Preferred AMLs have number average molar masses of less than 7,000 g/mol (chain length n typically about 25), mass distributions of less than 1.2 and narrow precipitation-solubility temperature (NPST) interval, typically in the range of 1-2° C.

Abstract: Use of crosslinked polymers for coil coating based on perfluoropolyethereal polymers, comprising as repeating units sequences of one or more oxyfluoroalkylenic units such as —CF2CF2O—, —CR4R5CF2CF2O— wherein R4 and R5 equal to or different from each other are chosen among H, Cl, F or perfluoroalkyl from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, —CF2CF(CF3)O—, —CFYO—, wherein Y is equal to F or CF3, having hydroxylic bifunctional termination, crosslinking being carried out with blocked polyisocyanates having at least 3 NCO groups.
Abstract: Aqueous printing ink vehicle and ink compositions are disclosed, which are based on sulfated or sulfonated organic compound binders or non-ionic pigment binders.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of aqueous polymer dispersions comprising polymerizing compounds with unsaturated ethylenic bonds at a temperature of 10.degree. to 100.degree. C. in the presence of an at least partially water-soluble free-radical initiator and at least one water-soluble protein and optionally present conventional adjuvants with the starting mixture containing not more than 40% of the total monomers and the remaining monomer being added by metering during the polymerization, the initiators being at least one member of the group consisting of ketone peroxides and organic hydroperoxides in an amount of at least 30 mmol per kg of total monomer mixture and optionally present water-soluble reducing agents and the amount of protein being at least 3% by weight based on the total monomer weight and at least 30% by weight is added during the polymerization and the isoelectric point of the protein is not reached or exceeded during polymerization.
