Patent number: 11731997Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for preparing an amphiphilic lignin nanomaterial based on pulping black liquor, an amphiphilic lignin nanomaterial, and an oil sludge detergent. In the disclosure, physical treatments such as ball milling and high-pressure jet homogenization treatment are conducted on alkali lignin at the early stage to adjust the molecular weight and size of alkali lignin and thus to give alkali lignin nanoparticles with uniform particle sizes; and on this basis, a chemical treatment such as alkylation grafting modification is conducted to give amphiphilic lignin nanoparticles with both hydrophilicity and lipophilicity. Due to the nano-size effect, the amphiphilic lignin nanomaterial has a significantly-increased specific surface area (SSA) and effectively-improved surface properties, which can reduce the oil-water interfacial tension, and emulsify the crude oil and peel off the crude oil from the surface of rock particles, so as to achieve the purpose of oil-solid separation.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2020Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: GUANGXI UNIVERSITYInventors: Chengrong Qin, Jian Zhang, Chen Liang, Shuangquan Yao, Xinliang Liu, Zhiwei Wang, Wei Li, Jiulong Sha

Patent number: 6339116Abstract: Biobased cross-linked compositions, methods of fabrication and structures, in particular biobased printed wiring boards using the compositions and methods of making the structures are described. Biobased materials such as lignin, crop oils, wood resins, tannins, and polysaccharides and combinations thereof are cross-linked, preferably using heat, a cross-linking agent, and an initiator. The materials fabricated have suitable properties for printed wiring boards which are made by impregnating a fiberglass or biobased cloth with an admixture of the biobased material, cross-linking agent and initiator which is processed by conventional methods to produce a printed wiring board.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1996Date of Patent: January 15, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ali Afzali-Ardakani, Jeffrey Donald Gelorme, Laura Louise Kosbar

Patent number: 5705542Abstract: The invention concerns the waste liquor from the chemical-thermal pulping of fibre boards and particle boards containing bonding agents. The waste liquor is produced through a procedure in which fibre boards and wood particle boards are first chopped into shreds and, in a subsequent step, pulped according to a chemical-thermal procedure which dissolves the wood structure. The liquid remaining after the separation of the cellulose is retained as waste liquor and used as extender for wood adhesives.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1994Date of Patent: January 6, 1998Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Forderung der angewadtenInventors: Edmone Roffael, Brigitte Dix

Patent number: 4963597Abstract: An aqueous gel composition is formed from xanthan gum crosslinked with ions of a transitional metal, resorcinol, and formaldehyde. The gel which initially forms is injected into a formation where it selectively enters pores in a more permeable zone. Once in the more permeable zone, the gel reheals and forms a shear and thermally stable gel. This gel can be used in high temperature formations in addition to those formations having a pH of from about 3.0 to about 10. After the shear and thermally stable gel has formed, a steam-flooding, water-flooding, or a carbon dioxide oil recovery process is commenced in a zone of lesser permeability.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1990Date of Patent: October 16, 1990Assignee: Mobil Oil CorporationInventor: Paul Shu
