Abstract: A liquid-filled polyurethane elastomer gel is fabricated from water, organic glycol and a polyisocyanate prepolymer. The prepolymer is formed from organic di-isocyanate and organic diol or triol having a molecular weight of 3,000 to 10,000 and containing at least 40 percent by weight ethylene oxide adducts. The prepolymer is mixed with 3 to 20 times its weight of aqueous reactant including 25 to 65 percent by weight water and 75 to 35 percent by weight organic polyol. The resulting stable gel contains aqueous solutions or emulsions dispersed therein as small droplets comprising 75 to 95 percent of the weight of the resulting article. The liquid-filled polyurethane elastomer gel can be cast into shapes or can be formed into globs of random shape.
Abstract: High molecular weight, water soluble polymers are dissolved to form liquid solutions at relatively low polymer concentrations and solid, water-plasticized composites at higher polymer concentrations by admixing finely divided polymer particles with ice particles at temperatures below, and preferably far below, the freezing point of water. The admixture is then allowed to warm causing the ice to melt and the polymer to dissolve in the water.

Abstract: The disclosed golf ball has a thermally cross-linked solid core with a diameter of 36.5-39.0 mm and a 1.8-2.3 mm thick shell covering the core, in which the composition of the core contains polybutadiene rubber, acrylic or methacrylic acid, an acrylic or methacrylic ester, and an organic peroxide, while the composition of the shell contains an ionomer resin, a metallic acrylate or methacrylate, and a coloring matter.
