Abstract: A resin composition comprises a polylactic acid resin (A) 75-10 wt %, an aromatic polycarbonate resin (B) 25-90 wt % and a polymer compound to which a glycidyl compound or an acid anhydride is grafted or copolymerized (D) 1-50 wt parts with respect to 100 wt parts of the total of the component (A) and the component (B).
Abstract: A composition for use in laser decomposition includes (A) at least one of a polymer having a nitrogen atom-containing hetero ring and a polymerizable compound having a nitrogen atom-containing hetero ring; and (B) a metal ion.
Abstract: A resin composition in which a polylactic acid resin (A) 95-5 wt %, an aromatic polycarbonate resin (B) 5-95 wt %, and, with respect to 100 wt parts of the total of the (A) and the (B), at least one compatibilizer selected from a polymer compound containing an acrylic resin or styrene resin unit as a graft (C), a polymer compound to which a glycidyl compound or an acid anhydride is grafted or copolymerized (D) and an oxazoline compound, an oxazine compound and a carbodiimide compound (E) are compounded.
Abstract: The present invention relates to adducts useful for improving the toughness and curable compositions using such toughening adducts. In a particular aspect, the present invention relates to inventive toughening adducts and curable compositions having improved fracture toughness using those toughening adducts.

Abstract: A polymer electrolyte membrane includes a membrane polymer made of monomer units that have aromatic polyarylenes groups with proton-conducting functional groups bound to the aromatic polyarylene groups. The polymer electrolyte membrane can be used as a proton-conducting polymer membrane between the electrodes in a fuel cell.
Abstract: The compound 2-ethynyl-5-(4-pyridyl)ethynyl thiophene: ##STR1## when incorporated into a thermoplastic polymer having repeating units of the formula: ##STR2## wherein X is --O-- or --S--, and R is selected from the group consisting of: ##STR3## and Ar is selected from the group consisting of: ##STR4## wherein X is as previously defined, poled to align the molecules and cured to crosslink at least the terminal acetylenic groups, has second-order nonlinear optical activity.

Abstract: New polyoxazolidines can be defined with the general formula: ##STR1## where R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and n have the meaning specified in the description. These polyoxazolidines are useful cross-linking agents for hydrocuring systems based on polyisocyanates, acrylate polymers and polyepoxides, in compositions for paints, coatings, sealants and adhesives.
