Granular Contents Material Patents (Class 53/205)
  • Patent number: 8590582
Abstract: The disclosure concerns an apparatus for transferring, at high speed and in a very effective and accurate manner, particulate material from a feeder into reservoirs of a moving endless surface. The apparatus may include a three-dimensional plate for applying pressure onto the particulate material present between the plate and the moving endless surface. The particulate material is then transferred from the moving endless surface to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 7338421
Abstract: Filters for tobacco products are manufactured by a device comprising a conveyor drum rotatable about a horizontal axis and furnished with peripheral grooves, each holding a leaf of paper material preassembled with a first filter element. The single groove is flanked by two tubular elements arranged symmetrically on either side of the drum, slidable axially between a first position located externally of the groove and a second position located internally of the groove, also by pushers slidable within the respective tubular elements and serving to direct second and third filter elements into contact with the end faces of the first filter element in such a way that the second filter element, which consists in a measure of powder or granular material deposited in each tubular element by way of a spool valve, remains interposed between the first and the third filter element.

  • Patent number: 6050059
Abstract: The packaging apparatus for bags containing products for infusion envisages a plurality of stations located one after another along a feed line and used first to continuously cut successive individual pieces of fabric from a continuous strip of fabric, then to transform the piece of fabric from its flat configuration to a bag configuration, tubular in shape and with an open top which forms the mouth and into which a dose of product is inserted; the tubular bag is then moved to stations which cut the excess part of the mouth to size and close the mouth by tying it with a continuous thread, so as to form a closed bag, containing a single dose of product and having a projecting upper portion of thread; finally, a label is attached to the thread on each bag and the label is inserted in the bag tying zone.

  • Patent number: 5927052
Abstract: A method for flavoring tea with a granular flavoring agent includes the step of removing from a reservoir a predetermined amount of granular flavoring agent. The predetermined amount of granular flavoring agent is placed as a small heap onto a moving endless filter paper strip. Subsequently, a predetermined amount of tea is placed adjacent to or onto the small heap of flavoring agent. The tea and flavoring agent heaped onto the filter paper strip are subsequently enclosed in a tea bag made from the filter paper strip accordingly. The inventive device for performing the method includes a device for moving the endless filter paper strip in an advancing direction. A tea metering device and a metering device for a flavoring agent are positioned directly above the endless filter paper strip whereby the metering device for the flavoring agent is positioned upstream of the tea metering device in the advancing direction.

  • Patent number: 5831123
Abstract: A process for producing a granulated material from a powder mixture containing at least two components, one of which is in crystal or crystalline form and at least one contains water of crystallization and/or is reactive, granulation is carried out in an inclined drum. Powder is fed in at one end and granulate removed at the other, after being transported inside the drum for a desired period while the drum is rocked in a way which largely eliminates shear forces. A quantity of liquid at least approximately equal to the quantity of water of crystallization present and sufficient for the formation of a superficially active solution adhesive is released inside the drum, where appropriate by partial reaction of the reactive component(s), after which the powder mixture components are granulated by surface adhesion.

  • Patent number: 4870808
Abstract: A volumetric dosing unit with doser cells or chambers of adjustable volume for continuously operating machines producing dual-use filter sachets for infusion products. The metering unit has a doser with a cylindrical drum rotatable about a horizontal axis and with radial bores opening on its external cylindrical surface. A feeding hopper for the product to be dosed is located above the drum. A compacting element extends from its hopper to the lower deadpoint of the drum tangentially relative to a strip of paper for filter sachets onto which are discharged fractional doses for processing by means of piston elements sliding in the bores. The piston elements are linked to cam control means having an actuator track of adjustable width.

  • Patent number: 4723394
Abstract: In pouch packs for tobacco or the like of the "side-folding pouch" type, it is difficult to make a hermetic closure for the orifice of a pocket of the pouch pack, because accumulations of material impeding the provision of a closing seam or the like arise in the edge regions as a result of the construction of the pack. For this reason, the pouch pack is spread out to the full width of the blank in the region of the orifice for the provision of a closing seam, the closing seam is then made and the projecting lengths of material thus formed in the region of a covering tab are folded over inwards against the latter. This results in a pouch pack which is closed in an absolutely leak-proof manner and which has an essentially cuboid shape after completion.
