Hand Manipulated Type Patents (Class 53/219)
  • Patent number: 4458466
Abstract: A combined bag and wrapping sheet unit provides both an arrangement and method for dispensing items that are to be wrapped and then inserted into a bag. The bag of the unit is flat and collapsed and has two broad panels attached to one another along at least a portion of their side edges, a closed bottom end and an open top end. A saddle section is provided which is a planar extension of one of said board panels and further a weakened zone between the saddle section and the panel of which it is an extension is provided. The wrapping sheet is flexible and is a planar extension of the saddle section. A weakened zone is provided between the wrapping sheet and the saddle section. Both the wrapping sheet and the bag are readily detachable from opposite sides of the saddle section. A number of registered, identically oriented bag and wrapping sheet units are attached to each other so as to form a single assembly block.

  • Patent number: 4291516
Abstract: A unitary package rest member for use on a wrap station is comprised of a central section (42) which can be mounted in at least two different positions to the wrap station, and first and second shelves (44, 45) extending from the central section parallel to each other, spaced apart, and of substantially different area in order to provide to the operator a selection of mounting the rest member with either the smaller or larger shelf in the active operating rest position. The shelf parts extend in opposite directions from the central section, such that the rest shelf not in use projects inwardly under the top section of the wrap station, out of the way of the operator. The rest member can be formed by bending a unitary blank of sheet metal such that the shelf parts are parallel to each other, extending in opposite directions, and the sides of the blank are so dimensioned, in symmetrical fashion, that the blanks may be struck from a strip or sheet of the material with minimum waste.

  • Patent number: 4257212
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for supporting rolls of wrapping material and having a table for convenient reception of sheet, card or plate material in a stack to be wrapped. Means are provided to facilitate the handling of the wrapping material, typically a heat sealable plastic film, folding it over the stack to be wrapped, and moving the stack onto a heat sealing table. Simultaneous severing of extra material from the roll is accomplished. Marginal edge sealing by heat or otherwise is also possible.

  • Patent number: 4018034
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a packaging material and for packaging articles which includes a support for a roll of packaging material and a concave table for receiving articles to be packaged. The material is drawn over the table and by reason of the concavity, the articles are automatically centered on the material so that the material can be folded over the articles and sealed along the edges.
