Patent number: 10597175Abstract: A method and a device for producing a container filled with a liquid filling material from preforms made of a thermoplastic material, wherein each preform is thermally conditioned and subsequently, during a molding and filling phase, remolded into the container in a mold having at least one liquid filling material as a pressure medium. The filling material or parts of the filling material are supplied at at least two points in time and/or in at least two process phases with different contents of carbon dioxide and/or at different temperatures. In the second process phase, dry ice, particularly in form of pellets, is supplied.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2013Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignees: KHS GMBH, KHS CORPOPLAST GMBHInventors: Dieter Klatt, Frank Haesendonckx, Ludwig Clüsserath, Manfred Härtel, Wilfried Ehmer

Patent number: 10457426Abstract: A method and device for producing filled containers from preforms made of a thermoplastic material. The preforms are respectively transferred to a molding or filling element of a molding and filling station and are shaped in the respective container in a subsequent molding and filling process inside a mold of the molding and filling station due to the action of the pressure of a supplied filling material in the preform. The respective container is withdrawn from the molding and filling element of the molding and filling station after molding and filling.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2012Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignees: KHS GMBH, KHS CORPOPLAST GMBHInventors: Alfred Drenguis, Dieter Klatt

Patent number: 6925780Abstract: A method of aseptically filling an internally sterilized sealed container having a transfer port which comprises a tubular body which is sealed to the wall of the container and defines a flow passage therethrough, and a sealing plug engaged into the passage, the tubular body having an annular outer sealing face thereon which surrounds the flow passage, including the steps of: supporting the tubular body of the container in a selected orientation and position; providing a sterilization and filling head having at least an outer sealing ring thereon which is adapted to engage and seal with the annular sealing face, and a sterilization chamber located inwards of and at least partially defined by the outer sealing ring; bringing the sterilization and filling head and the tubular body into engagement with each other so that the outer sealing face; introducing a sterilization fluid into the sterilization chamber to sterilize at least the radially outer part of the plug and that part of the tubular body within the ouType: GrantFiled: June 25, 1999Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: Visy Films & Laminates Pty LimitedInventor: Ian McArthur Anderson

Patent number: 6647700Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for transferring material from an isolated environment into a storage carrier through a conduit that can be sealed with a plug. The plug and conduit can then be severed to provide a hermetically sealed storage carrier containing the material which may be transported for storage or disposal and to maintain a seal between the isolated environment and the ambient environment.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2000Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Westinghouse Savannah River CompanyInventors: Steven L. Patent number: 6502369Abstract: A method of supporting a plastic container exposed to elevated temperatures during product filling and packaging to eliminate heat and internal pressure induced distortion, internal vacuum distortion, or structural failure. Plastic containers usually have a body with exterior configuration and a sealable open mouth. The invention provides a method of hot filling, pasteurising and retort processing of conventional containers during product filling where at least a portion of the container is confined in a support casing having an interior cavity mating the exterior configuration of the container body portion. The product is then introduced into the container, and the container mouth is sealed. A positive pressure is induced within the sealed container while the container is exposed to a product processing temperature. An unsupported PET container exposed to high heat and internal pressure variations would distort or fail.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2000Date of Patent: January 7, 2003Assignee: Amcor Twinpak-North America Inc.Inventors: David Andison, Steven Scheffer

Patent number: 4694634Abstract: A vacuum sealing device includes a plug which is thrust into the port of an insulated steam injection tubing for closing an annular space of the tubing which confines a vacuum. The plug is mounted for movement within a first mounting element and for movement within a bellows having an end connected to the first mounting element. A second mounting element is connected to the opposite end of the bellows and carries a rod which is fixed to the plug. By moving the two mounting elements together, the bellows is compressed and the plug is thrust by movement of the rod. The first mounting element is connected to an upper clamping section which cooperates with a lower clamping section to engage around a tubular to be plugged. The upper section can be correctly centered with its plug over the port of the tubular by momentarily compressing the bellows to extend the plug. The plug is provided with a shank portion and a breakable tab for breaking the plug away from the shank portion.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1985Date of Patent: September 22, 1987Assignee: The Babcock & Wilcox CompanyInventors: Paul T.
