In Vertical Orbit Patents (Class 53/303)
  • Patent number: 11390510
Abstract: The present invention relates to a capping machine equipped with a plurality of capping heads with roto-translation movement. In particular, the present invention relates to a capping head (1) comprising a supporting structure (2) on which a roto-translation system (3) is mounted, operatively connected to a capping device (4), characterized in that the roto-translation system (3) comprises a linear motor (3a) and a rotary motor (3b) operatively coupled so as to impart a roto-translation motion to the capping device (4) and in that the capping head (1, 201) comprises a suspension system adapted to keep the rotary motor (3b) in a raised position even when the linear motor (3a) is disconnected or electromagnetically decoupled.

  • Publication number: 20100192514
Abstract: A capping machine (1) of carousel design comprises a centre shaft (2) turning on a fixed base frame (3) about a vertical axis of rotation (Y), a set of capping units (4) encircling and revolving as one with the shaft (2) about the axis of rotation (Y), and a cylindrical cam (5) interposed between the shaft (2) and the capping units (4), by which the single units (4) are caused to move toward and away from the fixed base frame (3). During operation, the cam (5) is held in at least one predetermined fixed position relative to the base frame (3) by a single supporting element (6) anchored to the base frame (3), concealed internally of the rotating shaft (2) and connected to the cam (5), which represents a departure from the conventional method of supporting the cam on two or more columns located externally of the carousel structure and exposed to view.

  • Patent number: 6564529
Abstract: A bottle-capping machine has a rotor rotatable about a substantially stationary horizontal axis and having radially oppositely outwardly directed arms each having an outer end formed as a seat adapted to hold one of the caps. A conveyor moves the bottles through a fitting station below the axis and a downwardly open magazine holding a stack of the caps in a pick-off station above the axis is vertically displaceable between a lower position with the stack engageable with the seat in the pick-off station and an upper position with the stack clear of the seat in the pick-off station. A vertically displaceable stripper element fixed to the magazine is engageable with the cap on the seat in the fitting station to strip the cap from the seat in the fitting station and apply it to the neck of a bottle in the fitting station.

  • Patent number: 6374576
Abstract: The invention falls within the sector of bottling plants. In a method for capping containers (2) with crown caps, the step of centering the cap is performed without the container (2), the cap being completely free to arrange itself in position on a movable magnetic element (4). The capping machine has capping means (7, 11) which are eccentric with respect to the capping axis (20) and positioned at a higher level than the zone for capping the container (2).
