Patent number: 5339599Abstract: A packaging machine with a flite adjustment mechanism for readily changing the distance between a rearward and a forward set of flites where a flits head shaft is coupled by a chain to a slave shaft by a phase adjuster. The flight head shaft drives a pair of outboard flite sprockets and chains. The slave shaft drives an independently rotating hub which drives a pair of inboard chains via inboard flits sprockets, which are driven at approximately the same speed as and angularly deflected from a pair of outer sprockets. Spacing of the flites is changed by adjustment of a phase adjuster. A splined network also allows for adjustment to accommodate different flits lengths.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1992Date of Patent: August 23, 1994Assignee: Thiele Engineering CompanyInventor: Scott C. Patent number: 5074411Abstract: A display fixture or rack supports a supply or stacks of letter-size pads and smaller note-size stationary pads in generally vertical positions, and also supports a supply of mailing envelopes in horizontal positions. Each pad includes a stack of paper sheets bonded at the top to a stiff backing card and surrounded by a transparent film. A set of one letter-size pad and one note-size pad is printed with the same multicolor design or artwork to provide the pads of each set with substantially the same appearance, and the artwork on each set of pads is different from the artwork on each of the other sets. All of the pads and envelopes are custom printed in colors coordinated to match the colors of a particular college or university, and the envelopes are located in compartments located below the stacks of note-size pads and between the stacks of letter-size pads.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 1991Date of Patent: December 24, 1991Assignee: CSA Inc.Inventor: Mark T. Patent number: 5001886Abstract: A packaging machine having a sterile tunnel is provided with an outlet gate at the downstream end into which a ram lifts the filled cups. Since the gate opening is always partly obstructed by a cup and as each cup is lifted into the opening by the limited stroke of the ram a cup previously obstructing the opening is removed, the losses of air through the opening are limited and pressure fluctuations in the tunnel are reduced.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1990Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Assignee: Gasti Verpackungsmachinen GmbHInventor: Alfons Turtschan

Patent number: 4783949Abstract: A flexible adjustable wedge of tetrahedronal structure is provided wherein four swivel-jointed arms are attached at their respective ends by pin connections. Flexible adjusting arms provide dimensional stability by interconnecting either opposing corners or opposing arms of the tetrahedronal wedge. The adjusting arms are provided with some degree of flexibility in order to allow the wedge to automatically conform its size to minor variations in the flat width of the film passing thereover. Where changes in overall size of the wedge are desired, the adjusting arms can be easily lengthened or shortened.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1988Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Assignee: Culbro Machine SystemsInventor: Michael Chopko
