Abstract: Packing machines for the manufacture of packing containers frequently produce these from web-like material, which is supplied to the machine in the form of a roll. During the production the material web is advanced through the machine along a path defined by guiding rollers, guiding rails and similar elements. These guiding elements obstruct in an undesirable manner the movement of the material web through the machine. This difficulty is eliminated in accordance with the invention in that a front and a back part of the material web are advanced alternately. In accordance with the invention, moreover, an arrangement is proposed with first and second web-advancing elements, which operate with alternating working strokes.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing tea bags and the like is disclosed. The bags are made by forming a web into a flattened closed tube while continuously introducing tea and the like into the tube and pinching the tube at successive locations along transverse pinch lines corresponding generally to the required bag length. The tube is then caused to travel upwardly so that the tea tends to migrate downwardly under gravity and creates voided areas below the pinch locations and the tube is then heat sealed transversely in those voided areas. Finally, the bags are severed from the tube along lines disposed generally centrally of each transverse heat seal.
Abstract: A bagger for automatically forming and sealing a plurality of bags of predetermined size and filled by a predetermined weight of content from a single, continuous plastic sheet.
Abstract: Process for wrapping a stack of dispensing cups, each cup containing a measured amount of material, to provide a package for assuring extended storage life for the material therein.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for opening a folded paper box blank, inserting a product filled container into the opened blank, and closing and sealing the end flaps of the blank. The apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a magazine for storing a vertical pile of the folded blanks, separating cams and feeding rollers for discharging the lowest blank, elongate transport screws, a transfer plate for standing up the discharged blank and delivering the blank to the transport screws, and a cylindrical cam for engaging the sides of the folded blank and, upon rotation thereof, for compressing and hence opening the folded blank thereby forming an opened rectangular box. The apparatus also comprises an endless conveyer system that includes a plurality of carrier trays, each tray for securely holding an opened box and conveying the box to a plurality of stations where the end flaps are folded in and sealed.
