  • Patent number: 10549485
Abstract: There is described a packaging apparatus (1) for forming sealed packages (2) from a tube (3). The packaging apparatus (1) has an endless conveyor device (7) arranged in a conveyor zone (8), conveying carts (9) and operative units (10, 10?) moved by the plurality of conveying carts (9) along a path (P, Q). Each operative unit (10, 10?) moves between an operative configuration, in which the operative unit (10, 10?) manipulates the tube (3) and a rest configuration in which the operative unit (10, 10?) is detached from the tube (3). Each operative unit (10, 10?) has a half-shell (36) and one of a sealing element (37a) or a counter-sealing element (37b) and each operative unit (10, 10?) is carried by one respective conveying cart (9) and extends laterally away therefrom so that the conveyor zone (8) is laterally spaced apart from an operative zone (33) where the tube is manipulated.

  • Patent number: 9636883
Abstract: Score lines are formed on package material. A spout attachment hole is formed in a portion corresponding to a top gusset section of a pouch. A spout is attached to the spout attachment hole. A portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of the top gusset section of the pouch and a portion corresponding to a top edge of a body section of the pouch are heat-sealed, and the package material is cut in the width direction. Portions corresponding to side edges of the body section of the pouch are heat-sealed, and a portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of a bottom gusset section and a portion corresponding to a peripheral edge of a bottom end portion of the body section are heat-sealed. The heat-sealed portions formed at the portions corresponding to the side edges of the body section of the pouch are cut so a spouted pouch package is released.

There is heat-insulating ring (5) between the latter and the cooling metal ring (4). In the position of heating, said heat-insulating ring (5) is positioned around the end of the tube body (2). The heat-insulating ring (5) is of solid-state material or gas of low thermal conduction.

Abstract: A method of packing and, for purposes of extending its shelf-life, heat treating a food product in a packaging container of paper or paperboard. The packaging container is first filled wholly or at least partly with foam containing a non-oxidizing gas, such as nitrogen, whereafter the wholly or partly filled packaging container is filled with the pertinent food product. After this filling, the packaging container is, where necessary, filled with additional foam to ensure the headspace above the product level in the packaging container is entirely filled with foam when the packaging container is closed and sealed by thermosealing. The closed packaging container filled with product and foam is thereafter subjected to the heat treatment for purposes of extending its shelf-life at a treatment temperature of at least 115° C.

A perimeter sealed region can have a seal width greater than an intermediate sealed region. A longitudinal intermediate sealed region and a transverse intermediate sealed region can be arranged within the perimeter sealed region. Formation of the perimeter sealed region along first and second ends of the package can be subsequent to the perimeter sealed region along third and fourth ends of the package. Before the formation, compartments having an opening facing the first end can receive medical implements, and compartments having an opening facing the second end can receive medical implements. The medical implements can remain uncovered by individual pouches when inserted into the respective compartments, thereby reducing manufacturing costs and environmental wastes.
