  • Patent number: 8028504
Abstract: Changing or feeding, respectively, of a working tool (11) into a workstation (110) of a packaging machine (1) takes place by varying a distance of a receiving unit having arranged the working tools (11), with respect to a support rack (15) by means of a lifting device (200). By means of a shifting means (300) the working tool (11) can be shifted from the support (10) into the workstation (110), or reverse. Therein, the support (10) can be formed such that it is movable out of the packaging machine (1).

Abstract: Disclosed is a apparatus for manufacturing pole-piece pockets, comprising a framework, an pole-piece supplying assembly, an pole-piece transporting and regulating assembly, a vertically thermal-welding assembly, a transversely thermal-welding assembly, a film clamping and drawing assembly, and a film cutting assembly for cutting the films. The vertically thermal-welding assembly comprises a press welding cutter having two blades for simultaneously welding the two lateral edges of the pole-piece pocket. The transversely thermal-welding assembly comprises a first thermal welding cutter for welding the base of the pole-piece pocket and a second thermal welding cutter for welding the opening of the pole-piece pocket. The press welding cutter has two blades so that the two lateral edges of a pole-piece pocket can be welded in just one welding operation. Thus, the parallelity and welding consistency of the welding joints can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 8001749
Abstract: A packaging machine having a lifting unit comprises at least a spindle and a spindle nut. It is the object of the present invention to provide a packaging machine having a lifting unit which can substantially receive the same forces in any lift position and which exhibits shorter moving times. For this reason, the spindle is motor-drivable and stationary relative to a frame (2).

  • Patent number: 7987653
Abstract: An embossed carrier tape manufacturing apparatus includes features for integrating with other processing equipment so that other processes such as forming, filling, and sealing the tape can be performed sequentially in one integrated process. The apparatus includes retractable contact spot heaters for heating the tape prior to embossing, along with a unique heat shield arrangement that is interposable between the heaters and the tape so that the process may be paused. Also, a synchronizing apparatus is integrated so that the carrier tape embossing process may be automatically paused for adjusting to the input rate of other carrier tape processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7966788
Abstract: A method and a device for packaging product portions in a wrapper are proposed, wherein at least two webs of a packaging material are aligned parallel, with the longitudinal edges facing each other overlapping, and each transported towards one upwardly open folding shaft, the webs are severed transverse to the overlapping longitudinal edges, creating flat blanks of the wrappers, and the blanks are folded into the folding shaft , creating an upwardly open wrapper, whereupon the product portion is placed in the open wrappers and the upwardly protruding sections of the wrappers are then turned inward while overlapping. The blanks, whose inner edges overlap, are guided in frictional engagement to their folding position above the folding shafts, whereupon the longitudinal edges of the overlapping blanks facing each other are, lifted together , whereupon the blanks are released by releasing the frictional engagement.

  • Patent number: 7963091
Abstract: An improved indexing vacuum-packaging machine more accurately positions and aligns the upper film relative to the lower film at the sealing station. A video camera replaces a conventional photocell, whereby the braking and concomitant stretching of the upper film at the sealing station need only be performed only every few indexing cycles, whereby shaking and jerking of the machine is negated as compared to a conventional vacuum-packaging machine. The video camera may use any portion of the printed matter on the upper film as a target for determining when to brake the upper film for the subsequent stretching thereof, without having to rely solely upon the hithertofore-used one black target-box imprinted on the upper film.

  • Patent number: 7954302
Abstract: An apparatus for sealing a cover film to a blister film having blisters holding respective small objects has a feed roll rotatable about an axis and formed with an array of radially outwardly open recesses arrayed like the blisters of the blister film. The blister film passes over the feed roll with the blisters in the recesses. A sealing roll is rotatable about an axis generally parallel to the feed-roll axis and presses the cover foil down against the blister foil on the feed roll. The feed roll is rotated to pull the films in a travel direction between the rolls so that the cover film is sealed to the blister film between the blisters thereof. A sensor detects movement of the sealing roll transversely of the feed-roll axis. A controller generates an output when the detected movement exceeds a threshold.

Abstract: The sealing station in a thermoforming machine for sealing a cover sheet to a bottom sheet having pocket-like depressions to hold products includes a first mold and a second mold, the second mold having cavities to accept the pocket-like depressions in the bottom sheet. The sealing station further has a vent system, which involves an inlet channel and an outlet channel in an area of each of the cavities so that, during a sealing operation, a vent space is formed between each depression in the bottom sheet and each cavity, and air entering through the respective inlet channel passes over the depression in the bottom sheet in the vent space and escapes through the respective outlet channel.

  • Patent number: 7937912
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for making a container (1) comprising two or more compartments, said method including the following steps: a first step of heat sealing (S1) performed between two sheets (111, 112) so as to form the periphery of the container and performed at a temperature such that said seal (S1) is resistant to a predetermined stress, while providing filling orifices (12), a second step of heat sealing (S2) performed to form at least one separation between the compartments (13) and performed at a second temperature lower than said first temperature and such that said seal (S2) is breakable by said stress, a third step of filling said compartments (13). The invention is characterized in that after said first sealing step, the two sealed sheets (111, 112) are arranged in a mold (2, 2?) whose shape they match under the pressure of a gas.

  • Patent number: 7934362
Abstract: A packaging machine includes a clamping arrangement, composed of a series of clamps designed to grip and release a web of flexible material, and which are coupled to a belt that is advanced along a predetermined path to advance the web of flexible through the machine. The belt is made up of side-by-side belt portions that are spliced together in axially spaced locations by the clamps, to withstand the forces and stresses placed thereon as the web material is advanced. Each clamp is formed of an upper jaw member and a lower jaw member that are pivotably interconnected together, in combination with a guide member the guides movement of the belt through the machine. The belts are independently driven by operation of a pair of motors, which are synchronously operated in order to advance the opposite edges of the web material at the same rate of speed through the machine.
