Abstract: Process for the preparation of low-salt liquid dyestuff preparations, characterized in that they are obtained by:a) diazotization of an aromatic amine,b) 2-fold coupling of the diazo component obtained according to a) to I-acid-urea, in the presence of an inorganic base and in the absence of an organic base,c) desalination and, if appropriate, concentration by means of a pressure permeation of the reaction mixture obtained according to b), so that an inorganic salt content of less than 1% by weight is achieved.

Abstract: Polyazo dyes of the formula I ##STR1## where one of the two radicals X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 is hydroxyl and the other is amino,p and q are each independently of the other 0 or 1,D.sup.1 and D.sup.2 are each independently of the other a radical of the formula ##STR2## and B is a bridge member are prepared using novel sulfonamide intermediates and are useful as dyes for dyeing natural or synthetic substrates.
Abstract: Provided are certain bathochromic azo dyes which are prepared by reacting 2-aminothiphenes or 2-aminothiazoles, which contain a primary amino group, with 2-chloro-3-negatively-substituted maleimides. These compounds are then diazotized and coupled with azo components, for example, anilines, 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinolines, 2,3-dihydroindiles, and 3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzoxazines to form blue-cyan azo dyes.
Abstract: Prepolymer polyols containing mesogenic moieties useful as reactants for the preparation of resinous materials are disclosed. Synthesized by condensing a polyether polyol with bifunctional mesogenic diacids, or diesters, the compounds of the invention are characterized by their reasonably low melt temperature which renders them suitable as additive materials in polymeric molding compositions and as precursors for the preparation of resinous materials.The liquid crystalline properties of the prepolymers of the invention were found to depend on the type and molecular weight of the glycols and on the molar ratio between the glycols and the mesogenic reactant.

Abstract: Colorants are obtained by reacting a dyestuff which is free from ionic groups and has.gtoreq.2 NH.sub.2 groups which are preferably arranged in such a manner that they do not participate in the resonance of the chromophore with such an amount of a (cyclo)aliphatic diisocyante so as to form an adduct that still contains at least two free NCO groups, and subsequently reacting this adduct with a (cyclo)aliphatic diamine, to form an adduct suitable for dyeing and pigmenting macromolecular substances, in particular for coloring PUR-based paints, coatings and laminates.
