  • Patent number: 10654706
Abstract: A saddle tree comprising a back engaging element (3) for engaging and sitting on the back of an animal and a seat forming element (4) resiliently coupled to the back engaging element (3) adjacent the pommel (5) by a pair of resilient mounting members (8). A limit strap (17) is anchored to the back engaging element (3) and is adjustably coupled to the seat forming element (4) by a ratchet mechanism (20). The limit strap (17) terminates in a grippable element (32) which is releasably grippable by the ratchet mechanism (20). By urging the grippable element (32) in the direction of the arrow A through the ratchet mechanism (20), the limit of upward travel of the seat forming element (4) relative to the back engaging element (3) is reduced, thereby effectively hardening the saddle.

  • Patent number: 10538426
Abstract: Saddle comprising a central part having a top surface for providing a seat to a rider, a lower surface having a curvature for adapting to a back of a horse, elongated pad members coupled to said central part for forming a cushion, connecting places for mechanically coupling a reinforcing member to said central part for imposing a given curvature to said lower surface. The saddle is characterized in that it further comprises a hinge, mechanically coupled to the lower surface of the central part, for facilitating a modification of said curvature, and for coupling a reinforcing member to said central part, said connecting places being located on a portion of the hinge that is accessible from the lower surface of the central part.

  • Patent number: 8424278
Abstract: The invention is directed to a piece (2) for a saddletree (1) of mat-like general shape conformed to have both a first overall concavity in a first direction of a longitudinal plane of symmetry and a second overall concavity in a second direction of a transverse plane, delimited by an exterior free edge (14) including a pommel portion, a cantle portion and two longitudinal portions, the exterior free edge being adapted to cooperate with a complementary interior free edge of the saddletree, the mat including a plurality of individual portions at least partly separate, placed in the vicinity of each other so that each individual portion can absorb forces and be deformed in bending or in torsion at least partly independently of the other individual portions, the piece being provided with elements for associating it with the saddletree.

  • Patent number: 7937917
Abstract: A saddle pad that exhibits pockets on its top side facing toward a saddle to be laid on, arranged along and to the left and right of a line of symmetry of the saddle pad. The pockets extend over the entire length of the saddle pad. Inserted into the pockets is a plate-shaped spring device, by which optimal stabilization and pressure distribution are achieved, even when treeless saddles are provided for the riding of a riding animal.

  • Publication number: 20080223008
Abstract: A saddle (1) for a horse comprises a pair of side support panels (4) for engaging in the back of the horse (2) and a seat (8) resiliency carried on the side support panels (4) by a pair of mounting members (10) integrally formed with the seat (8) and the side support panels (4). Side members (5) releasably secured to the side support panels (4) extend downwardly on opposite sides of the animal and are releasably secured by a girth strap (6) extending beneath the belly of the horse. A pair of sweat absorbing pads (22) secured to the underside of the side support panels (4) act to transfer sweat from the back of the horse for evaporation thereof. A seat cover (28) is secured to the seat (8), and straps (32) extending from the seat cover (28) carry stirrups (33).

  • Patent number: 6920743
Abstract: A saddle tree whereby various parameters, such as the fork, cantle, seat length and various angles there between are readjustable to accommodate different animals (e.g., horses) as well as the same animal as its physical dimensions change. The saddle tree is rigid thereby alleviating certain discomforts for the animal and rider.
