Tail Holders Patents (Class 54/78)
  • Patent number: 10856525
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to equine tail coverings used to keep the equines tail clean, promote growth and repel insects. The conventional tail bag is typically loose fitting and does not typically have the durability needed to keep up with an active equine. The present invention uses a compressive force to help hold the covering in place while it protects the tail and the artificial tassels serve as a replacement for the natural tail of the horse in order for the equine to have full functionality of their tail.

Abstract: A tailset crupper for an animal, such as a horse, may be made from a solid casting without lightening features, such as to produce a heavier, less easily dislodged object, such as may have a lower center of gravity, and a center of gravity located closer to the surface of the animal. The tendency to resist dislodgement may be enhanced by employing a higher aspect ratio of lobe width, or lobe span to trough size than might otherwise be used. The tendency to resist dislodgement may also be enhanced by employing a wedge, or spoon, that may tend to protrude inwardly of the surface of curvature of the crupper.

  • Patent number: 5694750
Abstract: A Wrap used to protect, condition and enhance any hair long enough to be braided. It may be used on an animal's tail or person's head hair. It may be made from various materials and requires no assembly. No tools are used for installation or securing. Proper use by persons of any age should not damage hair. The Wrap is secured initially around hair below the tail bone or scalp. Hair is separated into sections; each section of hair is enclosed in a material strip; each strip is formed into a tube by using closures on its lengthwise edges. The tubes are then braided to the location of bottom securing device. The other tubes are then placed within the tube which has the securing device, and the braid is secured. The same securing device may be used to optionally loop a long tail, using a long Wrap. Swatting fringes, which enable the animal to protect itself from flies, and/or for decoration, may be located anywhere appropriate on the Wrap. Fringes are pulled out of the braid, so that they hang free.

  • Patent number: 4141197
Abstract: A guard for protecting a horse's tail while supported in a tail set. Curved metal rods, welded together, enclose an area around the horse's tail and prevent contact between it and surrounding objects. Small cloth strips with buckles fasten the metal structure to the straps of a tail set which holds it in the vicinity of the horse's tail. Loops formed from the ends of the metal rods abut the rear quarters of horse and inform it when its tail approaches a surrounding object too closely. As a result, the horse learns to limit its movements so as to avoid contact between such objects and its tail guard.
