Abstract: Lubricant additives imparting oxidation inhibiting properties to lubricant compositions, are synthesized by reacting thioxamide, saturated aliphatic aldehyde of from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, and an olefin of at least 8 carbon atoms, in the presence of a boron trifluoride catalyst.
Abstract: Methine dyes from tetrahydroquinoline compounds containing N-thioether substituents, in general produce bright yellow shades when applied to polyester fabrics by conventional dyeing procedures, have improved properties such as dyeability, fastness to light, resistance to sublimation, insensitivity to pH changes, and dye at the boil and under pressure to the same depth of shade. These compounds are particularly useful in the thermal fixation technique for dyeing polyester materials.
Abstract: Heterocyclic esters of alkylphenyl benzopyranopyridines represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, loweralkyl, loweralkanoyl, cycloalkylloweralkyl, cycloalkylloweralkanoyl, loweralkenyl, loweralkynyl, haloloweralkenyl, phenylloweralkyl, phenylloweralkenyl or phenylloweralkynyl; R.sub.2 is loweralkyl; R.sub.3 is ##STR2## WHEREIN X is a straight or branched chain alkylene group having from one to eight carbon atoms, a is an integer from 1 to 4, b is an integer from 1 to 4 and Z is CH.sub.2, O, S or NR.sub.7, with R.sub.7 being hydrogen or loweralkyl, with the limitation that when X is O, S or NR.sub.7, the sum of a and b is 3 or 4; and R.sub.8 is hydrogen or loweralkyl; Y is a straight or branched chain alkylene group having from one to ten carbon atoms; and each R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are the same or different members of the group consisting of hydrogen, halo, trifluoromethyl or loweralkyl; and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
Abstract: 2-AMINO-1,3-THIAZINES HAVING THE FORMULA ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is optionally substituted carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic andR.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl or optionally substituted substituted carbocyclic aromatic. The 2-amino-1,3-thiazines are useful for combatting fungi and bacteria, for example, in plant protection for combatting archimycetes, phycomycetes and the like, are prepared by reacting beta-halogeno-ethyl-ketone having the formulaR.sup.1 --CO--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --HalwhereinHal is halogen andR.sup.1 is as defined above, with thiourea of the general formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 is as defined above.
