  • Patent number: 11547257
Abstract: A vacuum filter bag includes an inlet flange and gasket and a plug. The inlet flange includes axial ribs and recesses which improve the seal between the inlet gasket and a vacuum inlet port and prevent accidental removal of the filter bag from the vacuum inlet port. The plug more securely closes the filter inlet opening after use of the filter bag. The filter bag reduces user exposure to dust and debris captured with a vacuum and is particularly suited for minimizing exposure to hazardous materials.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a filter cartridge that provides for a secure dust tight seal and is easily inserted and removed from a filtration unit. The filter cartridge includes a cartridge unit having a filter element, a bottom cap and a top boot and a sealing sleeve for insertion into the interior of the top boot. The top boot has an outside diameter which is slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the opening in a tube sheet into which the filter cartridge is to be inserted so that the cartridge may be easily inserted into and removed from the opening in a tube sheet. The top boot is also provided with a sealing ridge, which is located in the inside of the boot at the sealing point. The inside diameter of the sealing ridge is smaller than the cartridge boot and the sealing sleeve. When the sealing sleeve is inserted into the cartridge boot, the sealing sleeve contacts the sealing ridge and causes an increase in diameter of the sealing ridge.

  • Patent number: 5792224
Abstract: A connector system is disclosed for providing a connection between a tubular connector having external projections and a mounting collar having a hole with internal notches, for receiving the projections and securing them upon rotation. The connector opening has a non-planar edge and the collar includes an elastic sealing diaphragm with an elongated hole. This configuration of elements cooperate to reduce full contact between the diaphragm and connector during installation, permitting less force to be used in bringing the components into full connection and also providing a spring force which facilitates removal. Also disclosed is a bag for receiving a connector portion. The bag has a continuous perforation, approximately dimensioned to correspond to the connector portion's opening. The perforation is separated by contact with the connector, so as to admit the connector into the filter bag.

Abstract: A non-round unitary filter cartridge according to the present invention is provided having a unitary structure with pleated filter media formed securely about a perforated interior core. Opposite ends of the pleated filter media and perforated core are integrally formed with a bottom end cap and a flexible upper collar. The flexible upper collar is formed of a flexible molding compound which is deformable to pass through an opening in a tube sheet which retains the filter cartridge. The perforated core is oblong in configuration, having first and second parallel major side surfaces and first and second rounded outer ends. The flexible collar is elliptical in cross-section and has an outwardly facing groove located at the top of the barrel portion for sealably receiving a periphery of the tube sheet aperture.

  • Patent number: 5672273
Abstract: A filter arrangement which is employed in a fluid conduit is formed of a filter formed of a permeable filter material connected to a flange seal having an annular portion for engaging with and coupling to the permeable filter medium, and a planar portion for forming a seal which prevents leakage at a flange-type coupler. The planar and annular portions of the flange seal are formed of teflon, as is the filter itself, which may be formed of multiple layers of teflon fabric or filter material, each having a respective filter permeability characteristic. The filter is coupled to the annular portion of the flange seal by a thread which is sewn through the various layers of the filter medium and the annular portion of the flange seal. The thread may itself be formed of teflon, such that the entire filter arrangement is formed of teflon and will resist corrosion. Collapse of the filter is prevented by a rigid tubular support which has apertures therethrough to facilitate flow of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 5472460
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner filter bag has a connection member with an essentially tabular, board-like, stiff main body, which has a fitting opening for fitting on a vacuum cleaner connector tube. The main body guides a closing slide with a passage opening, which by way of a handle part is able to be moved out from an open position clearing the fitting opening into the closed position. The main body is divided into a holding ring surrounding the fitting opening on the outer side of the connection member and a closing slide guide: part constituted by the rest of the main body, the holding ring and the closing slide guide part being connected together at an attachment joint while being otherwise separate or separable from each other. In the position of use, with the connection member seated on the connector tube, the closing slide guide part is able to be pivoted away from the connector tube so that the closing slide comes clear of the connector tube and is able to be drawn into its closed setting.
