Abstract: An in-line vacuum filter comprises a manifold having an inlet, an outlet, a collecting container, and an actuatable filter paddle. A flow of air generated by a source of negative pressure travels from the inlet to the outlet. The actuatable filter paddle is positioned within the manifold such that it can be actuated between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the actuatable filter paddle is placed within the flow of air and in the second position, the actuatable filter paddle is removed from the flow of air. The filter paddle is preferably arcuate concave and comprises a plurality of apertures. In the first position, the filter paddle gradually diverts objects larger than a width of the apertures away from the flow of air. Diverted objects may travel to a removable collection container.

Abstract: Various rotating coalescer elements are described. The rotating coalescer elements include various arrangements of stacked separator discs or cones. In some arrangements, the described rotating coalescer elements include a combination of stacked separator discs or cones and filter media. In some arrangements, the stacked separator discs are designed to provide the largest possible amount of radial-projected separation surface area in a given rotating cylindrical volume, where flow to be cleaned is passing radially (outwardly or inwardly) through the rotating coalescer element. In some arrangements, this is achieved by stacking non-conical separating plates containing various area-maximizing features (e.g., spiral ribs, axial cylinders, spiral grooves, or spiral “V” shapes).

The overspray particles pass into the exhaust air flow in an application region of a painting assembly and the device includes a separation device for separating the overspray from a part of the exhaust air flow, in which clogging of the separation device with wet paint overspray is substantially prevented during a cleaning operation and/or ingress of precoat material into the application region from the region of the separation device is substantially prevented during a precoating operation, the device includes at least one closing device, by means of which the flow path of the exhaust air flow from the application region to the separation device can be intermittently closed off at least partially, and at least one precoat feeding means discharges a precoat material into the exhaust air flow downstream of the closing device.

  • Patent number: 7931716
Abstract: A cleaning appliance includes a main body, a filter and an interlock. The main body includes an airflow generator, a separating apparatus separating dirt and dust from an airflow, and a flowpath between the separating apparatus and the airflow generator delimited by a wall. The interlock has a first part located on the filter and a second part located on the main body outside the flowpath, arranged to communicate remotely when the filter is correctly located in the pre-determined position. The interlock is arranged selectively to allow or prevent operation of the airflow generator depending upon the relative separation between the first and second parts. By providing an interlock which has first and second parts which communicate remotely, the second part located on the main body can be isolated from the airflow path so that the second part is not subject to dirt and dust carried by the airflow.

Abstract: A fiber-paper based Diesel particulate Filtration (DPF) apparatus possessing high filtration efficiency and a high porosity, the apparatus comprising at least two rollers capable of rotating over rotors with the help of a controlled motor and capable of supplying fiber paper at the exhaust gas inlet. As the exhaust gas moves over the fiber paper supplied from one of the rollers, the soot gets gradually collected on the fiber paper and keeps on increasing the backpressure thereon. The moment when the backpressure increases beyond a limit, the loaded section of the fiber paper is replaced by fresh fiber paper from the other roller. The loaded fiber is sent to an off-board regeneration facility for regeneration.
