  • Patent number: 8535401
Abstract: The present invention relates to an air cleaner for the removal of pollutants from an air flow by a filter module, the filter module of which includes at least one permeable filter layer for the accumulation of pollutants on the filter layer. According to the invention, a bypass channel will be provided and established such that part of the unfiltered air flow may bypass any filter layer. Surprisingly, such a bypass channel does hardly compromise the cleaning effect of the filter module, at least as long as the filter layer has not yet been clogged with pollutants since in this case the biggest part of the air flow will take the major path through the filter layer due to lack of resistance. Only if the filter layer is clogged and if resistance for the air flow increases, air will obviously flow through the mentioned bypass channel.

This filter unit panel is obtained by disposing a plurality of filter units so that the outer peripheral surfaces of adjacent filter units (100a) and (100b) are partially in contact with each other but at least a part of the upper surfaces (11) and/or the lower surfaces (12) of the adjacent filter units are spaced apart from each other, and then melting a bonding resin so as to cause the melted bonding resin to flow into a gap (15) between the spaced upper surfaces and/or a gap (15) between the spaced lower surfaces and to cure. The bonding resin is supplied from, for example, protruding portions (10a) and (10b) of the frame body. This welding method increases the bonding strength between the filter units and increases the pressure resistance thereof accordingly.

Abstract: A filter holder assembly includes at least one frame having a peripheral wall and an inwardly directed peripheral edge substantially perpendicular to said peripheral wall and adapted to support a filter. At least one cam lock lever is secured to the peripheral wall at a first predetermined distance from the inwardly directed peripheral edge for compressing the filter in the frame and against said inwardly directed peripheral edge. The cam lock lever has a handle portion at one end thereof and a cam head provided with a cam foot at an opposite end thereof. The cam lock lever is rotatable to cause the cam foot to move between an open position and clamping position where the cam foot exerts a compressive force on the filter.
