Patent number: 11065941Abstract: A vehicle intake air filter is provided forming an inner conduit formed between an upper orifice and a lower orifice. In addition to an outer filtering layer, a secondary filtering layer or layers are provided spanning the upper orifice. A monitoring mechanism for measuring and communicating a function of the air filter is further located within the upper orifice. The monitoring mechanism measures and communicates the function of the air filter. A plurality of sensors measure a differential pressure between the outer and inner surfaces of the filter. A remote communication system transmits sensor data from the sensors via a wireless communication protocol to a remote electronic monitor device, such as a cell phone. Increased pressure differential or filter performance or efficacy may thereby be displayed to the user on a real-time basis. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2019Date of Patent: July 20, 2021Assignee: MARADYNE CORPORATIONInventors: John J. Patent number: 7287684Abstract: An apparatus for filtering well fluids and method of manufacture is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an inner support, a filter spirally wrapped around the inner support, and an outer support wrapped around the filter enclosing the filter between the inner and outer supports. The filter has longitudinal edges which overlap and the filter is held in place by friction with the inner and outer supports. The method of manufacturing the apparatus comprises continuously and simultaneously wrapping a filter and outer support around an inner support and disposing the filter between the outer and inner supports.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2003Date of Patent: October 30, 2007Assignee: Tubular Perforating Mfg., Ltd.Inventor: Edward F. Patent number: 7128772Abstract: A filter assembly through which a fluid can flow and a method for the production thereof are provided. The filter assembly includes at least one covering layer made of an at least partially porous material with at least one boundary region and includes at least one fiber layer made of a fiber fabric. The at least one covering layer forms a sleeve that encloses the fiber layer so that the fiber layer is permanently disposed inside the at least one covering layer. The filter assembly makes it possible to produce a filter body that can be used, in particular, for cleaning exhaust gases of mobile internal combustion engines.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2004Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignee: Emitec Gesellschaft fuer Emissionstechnologie mbHInventor: Rolf Brück

Patent number: 6955699Abstract: A device for filtering the intake air of an internal combustion engine having an expansion box (110) with an opening (12) for the intake air to pass therethrough, has a filter fixed to the opening that includes a first tubular filtering element having an upper annular element (1) having an upper end of the first tubular filtering element fixed thereto. A second filtering element is peripherally fixed to the upper annular element, over an upper end of the first tubular filtering element. A lower support (4) has an annular housing (9) for receiving the lower end of the first tubular filtering element therein, and a flat flange (7) for fixing the filter to the expansion box.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2001Date of Patent: October 18, 2005Assignee: BMC S.r.l.Inventor: Gaetano Bergami

Patent number: 6953124Abstract: A filter element for end face inlet formed of triangular channels which are alternately closed such that the fluid to be filtered must pass through the filter material in order to flow from the inlet side (22) to the discharge side (23). The channels are formed by alternating flat layers (17) and folded layers (18), whereby all sides of the inlet channels face a discharge channel. A particularly high filter efficiency is thereby achieved such that a large filter surface area and a high filter capacity are attained with a relatively small structural volume. The filter can be used, for example, as an air filter for various air filtration applications.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2003Date of Patent: October 11, 2005Assignee: Mann & Hummel GmbHInventors: Manfred Winter, Guenter Goerg, Ralf Poh
