Abstract: A panel filter for removal of contaminants from a gas, the panel filter having at least one V-pocket formed of two halves, each half composed of multiple pleats of filter media. The pleats extend generally parallel, often at an angle of less than 5 degrees or even less than 1 degree, to the overall filtration path, so that air or gas to the filtered passes through the pleats in a generally straight manner, with minimal bends. Each pleat has two legs of different length. The panel filter provides improved dust collection and retention while restricting pressure drop.

  • Patent number: 7931725
Abstract: A filter element and filter apparatus, and a method for fabricating a filter element, include a filter element having alternating layers of a face sheet material and a convoluted filter material, with the alternating layers forming substantially longitudinally oriented flutes that extend axially along, or past, a radially acting seal, into previously unused portions of the cavity of a filter housing. In some embodiments, structures such as struts extending partially across an outlet end of the filter element, or a rigid web formed by a layer of resin extending axially a potted length into pome of the flutes from the outlet end resist axially oriented pressure forces on the alternating layers.

  • Patent number: 7927393
Abstract: An air cleaner element includes an element body, which filters an air flow, and a guard member secured to the element body. The air flow is introduced into the element body through a first end surface of the element body. The air flow is then filtered and sent out from a second end surface. The guard member has a leg portion, which is secured to an outer circumferential portion of the first end surface of the element body. The guard member projects toward the upstream side of the air flow and includes guard portions which are connected together at the distal ends of the guard portions. The guard portions function as a handle when the element body is removed or installed and as a blockage portion that prevents large-sized foreign matter from entering the element body.

Abstract: A peaky filter comprises a covering and a corresponding base, a supporting frame connected between the covering and the base, and a multifold filter covering the exterior of the supporting frame. The supporting frame includes plural transversely spaced first supports and plural connectors. Each support has a supporting rod and a plurality of longitudinally spaced supporting members connected to the supporting rod. Each supporting member has a first supporting leg and a second supporting leg extending radially and outwardly from the supporting rod. Each connector has a first connecting part and a second connecting part, which are used for respectively connecting one end of the first supporting leg of one support and one end of the second supporting leg of another adjacent support to connect elastically the plurality of transversely spaced supports, and consequently alter the size of the supporting frame and the filtering area of the filter.
