    Abstract: Vat dyes for dyeing and printing cellulose material have the formula ##STR1## where P=pyranthrone structure, A=1,4-or 1,5-anthraquinonyl, V=a violanthronyl or isoviol-anthronyl radical which may carry up to 2 chlorine or bromine atoms as substitutents, R=hydrogen, the acyl radical of an aliphatic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -carboxylic acid or the acyl or sulfonyl radical of an aromatic carboxylic or sulfonic acid, Hal=chlorine or bromine, m=from 0 to 3, n=from 1 to 4, and p=from 0 to 3, with the proviso that the sum m+n+p is not greater than 4.
