Abstract: The instant disclosure provides a process for synthesis of compound of Formula: Xa-Mz+-Yb, wherein Mz+ is a transition metal ion and X and Y are carboxylate anions. The catalysts are hydrocarbon soluble and the process for their preparation, as disclosed herein, constitutes an elegant method for the preparation of such catalysts.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a light fatty acid alkyl ester with the formula of R1—COO—R2, and the method comprises a step in which a alkyl ether with formula of R1—O—R2 and a raw gas containing carbon monoxide go through a reactor loaded with a catalyst for carrying out a carbonylation reaction; wherein the catalyst contains an acidic EMT zeolite molecular sieve; wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from C1-C4 alkyl groups. The present invention has provided a new method for producing light fatty acid alkyl ester. In the method of the present invention, the carbonylation is carried out in the presence of the catalyst containing the acidic EMT zeolite molecular sieve, and the reaction activity is high, and the stability has been significantly improved, meeting the requirement of industrial production.

Abstract: A process for the synthesis of vinyl esters from butene oligomers, wherein butenes are oligomerized, the butene oligomers are separated from the oligomerized mixture, the butene oligomers are converted to carboxylic acids which are longer by one carbon atom, and the resulting carboxylic acids are converted to the corresponding vinyl esters. The butene oligomers are in particular dibutene, tributene and tetrabutene. The invention also relates to the use of the vinyl esters as plasticizers or as comonomers in polymerization reactions.

Abstract: A process and novel catalyst for the carbonylation of one or more of alcohols, ethers and ether alcohols to esters and, optionally, to carboxylic acids. The reaction is effected in the vapor state over a solid catalyst comprising a polyoxometalate anion in which the metal is at least one taken from Group V and VI of the Periodic Chart of the Elements complexed with a cation from a member of Group VIIIA of the Periodic Chart of the Elements. Preferably, the catalyst is deposited on a support that is inert to the reaction. The preferred support is silica.
