Auxiliary Ear Detacher Patents (Class 56/107)
  • Patent number: 9867334
Abstract: A corn header includes a plurality of harvesting units to separate corn ears from corn stalks. Each harvesting unit has a deck plate assembly, and an actuator assembly to adjust a width of a stalk receiving channel by adjusting a position of at least a deck plate of the deck plate assembly. A kernel sensor can generate a signal representative of the presence of kernels detached from the ears during the separation of the corn ears from the corn stalks by the harvesting units and a control unit to receive the signal from the kernel sensor and generate an actuator control signal for controlling the actuator assemblies of the plurality of harvesting units, thereby controlling the width of the stalk receiving channels of the harvesting units.

  • Patent number: 5970634
Abstract: A semi-submersible machine moves on rotatable endless belt tracks over diverse surfaces and has two tools on articulated booms for remediation of roadside drainage ditches, retention ponds and other shallow water bodies. One tool is a cutter bar for cutting vegetation at a plurality of angles and positions above or under water, and the other tool is a rotatable pair of opposing clawlike jaws for raking or scouring soil above or under water to restore percolation performance, and to remove loosened vegetative matter without removing soil and water. The vehicle is submersible to a depth of forty inches, and can traverse a slope of thirty degrees while its tilting control platform remains above water and level, thereby maintaining stability of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5572856
Abstract: A remotely controlled mower which can be easily converted to an edger, a trimmer and a blower with replaceable kits. The mower is battery powered with two drive motors (16A & B) having gear reducing means to provide rotational energy for propulsion and steering which enables the mower to turn with unlimited angles. Cutting devices for mowing, edging, trimming and blowing device are molded integrally with assemblies for easier attachment. The multiple holes on the assemblies provide a simple way to change cutting heights. Angle drives (54A & B) are used to convert the rotating directions for trimming, edging and mowing. The mower produces no air pollution with low operating noise. The combination of various functions in one remotely controllable mower not only makes lawn maintenance tasks easier but saves homeowners money to purchase and to service different equipments with less space required for storage.

  • Patent number: 4642976
Abstract: This specification discloses a cutting head and mounting assembly for adjustably supporting the cutting head on a mower. The mounting assembly for the head permits easy adjustment of the height of the head above the ground, its horizontal angle with respect to the frame of the mower, and the inclination of the head from a horizontal to a vertical orientation or any angle of inclination therebetween. At the end of the head opposite its cutting flail members, there is a quick detach joint which allows, either an electric motor to be mounted and energized through a switch by electrical power available aboard the mower, or alternatively allows a cable drive to be mounted which drives the head from a friction drive mechanism taking power from the mower engine shaft, the friction drive being selectively engageable by means of a Bowden control cable. A guard to deflect cuttings away from the operation is mounted on the cutting head.

  • Patent number: 4502269
Abstract: A boom assembly (B) is pivotally connected at one end with a prime mower (A) and at a second end with a mowing apparatus (C). An orientation control (D) controls the orientation of the mowing apparatus relative to the boom assembly such that the mowing apparatus can mow vegetation on vertical, sloping, or level areas with the boom positioned with varying degrees of extension. The orientation control (D) includes a hydraulic cylinder (60) which is pivotally connected at one end with the boom assembly and at its other end with a linkage assembly (62). The linkage assembly includes a first link (64) which is pivotally connected with the boom assembly and a second link (68) which is pivotally connected with the mowing apparatus and the first link. The linkage assembly converts the longitudinal extensive and contractive movement of the hydraulic cylinder into substantially 180.degree. of relative rotational movement between the mowing apparatus and the boom assembly.
