The pivoted hose support is mounted in a pivot bracket that is fixed to the forwardmost end of the draft tongue. The pivoted hose support includes a vertical portion defining a generally vertical pivot axis about which the hose support can rotatably move in conjunction with the pivoting motion of the draft tongue relative to the tractor and frame.

  • Patent number: 6360516
Abstract: A two stage hydraulic tongue swing mechanism and a tongue latch mechanism for controlling and affixing the tongue of a pull type implement while the implement is being laterally transported. The two stage hydraulic tongue swing mechanism comprises a tongue plate attached to the tongue. A free plate is pivotally attached at the tongue pivot and is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder. The tongue plate and free plate are selectively attached to each other by a lateral transport latch. The tongue latch mechanism is partly affixed to the tongue and partly to the trailframe. Attached to the tongue is a tongue handle that controls the position of a tongue pin. The tongue pin is biased into an angled strike plate with a slot on the edge of the trailframe. The tongue pin may be held in a retracted position by a notched lock bar.

  • Patent number: 6351929
Abstract: A triplex trim mower (100) including a vehicle (102) having two front drive wheels (104) and one rear steerable wheel (106). Mounted generally forward of the front wheels (104) are two reel-type cutting units (108a) laterally offset about the longitudinal axis (110) of the vehicle (102). Mounted between the front and rear wheels and substantially centered between the forward cutting units (108a) is a rear reel-type cutting unit (108b). A lateral support frame (137) is incorporated into the main frame of traction vehicle (102). The cutting units (108) are supported by a lateral carrier frame (144) which is slidably engaged to lateral support frame (137) such that carrier frame (144) can move laterally relative to support frame (137). A hydraulic cylinder (158) permits carrier frame (144) to be laterally displaced under operator command. Second and third hydraulic cylinders (131) permit cutting units (108) to be moved between a transport position and an operating position.

Abstract: An implement draft tongue is moved through a range of working positions to a transport position extending transverse to the working direction of the implement by an extensible and retractable hydraulic actuator. A control for the hydraulic cylinder includes an interrupter valve that is actuated, in response to a preselected extension of the hydraulic cylinder so as to prevent the cylinder from extending beyond a position for moving the draft tongue to one extreme of its operating range, when an actuating device for the interrupt valve is enabled. When the actuating device for the interrupt valve is disabled, the hydraulic actuator may be extended fully to place the draft tongue in its transport position.

  • Patent number: 6233912
Abstract: An implement deck slidingly mounted on a wheeled axle so that the deck can be moved laterally from side-to-side to extend out beyond the track of the wheels. A T-shaped handle is rotatively mounted on the implement deck and is connected through a rocker arm and linkage to the wheeled axle. When the T-handle is rotated in one direction, the deck will slide to one end of the axle and when the handle is rotated in the opposite direction, the deck will slide to the opposite end of the axle. When the deck is disposed in the center of the axle, a locking pin can be inserted to prevent any relative movement between the wheeled axle and the deck.

  • Patent number: 6199355
Abstract: A crop harvester having a wheeled frame with a tongue pivotally connected to the frame in the vicinity of a longitudinal centerline. The tongue, rotatable about a first generally vertical pivot axis, is swingable between extreme left and right positions on opposing sides of the longitudinal centerline with its distal end adapted for connection to a prime mover. A drive line transmits rotational power from the prime mover. A crop harvesting header, suspended from the frame in a forward disposition, includes operable components for engaging and processing crop material as the harvester is pulled over a field of standing crop. A gearbox receives rotational power from the drive line and transmits it to the operable components. The gearbox, mounted on the crop harvesting header in the vicinity of said longitudinal centerline forwardly of the first generally vertical pivot axis, is journaled for rotation about a second generally vertical pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 6182427
Abstract: A pull-type harvesting machine is adapted for laterally offset attachment to a tractor. The machine has a frame and a harvesting head supported by the frame including a cutting apparatus for cutting crops as the machine is towed across a field, and a gear box operably connected with the cutting apparatus. A pull tongue is pivotally coupled to the frame about a first vertical axis for varying the position of the machine relative to the tractor. A mechanical drive line extends along and is rotatably supported by the pull tongue for supplying driving power to the cutting apparatus through the gear box. The gear box is pivotally mounted on the header about a second vertical axis spaced from the first vertical axis. The drive line includes a fixed position portion and a telescoping portion supported at fore and aft ends by the tongue and the gear box, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6179315
Abstract: A steerable machinery trailer (1) has a chassis (2, 33, 35, 36) intermediate a pivotal towing attachment (26, 29, 30, 46) and trailer wheels (3) proximate a rear portion of the chassis. The trailer wheels have pivotal attachment to the trailer and are pivotal for steering with a steering shaft (4) that is length-controllable intermediate rigid positioning on the chassis and a steering arm (6) attached to a steering rod (7) that is connected to a pivotal attachment of the trailer wheels to the chassis. Separately and optionally from being pivotal on the pivotal towing attachment by wheel-following of the trailer wheels, the chassis is pivotal on the pivotal towing attachment with a positioning shaft (8) that is length controllable intermediate rigid positioning on the chassis and a rigid lateral attachment (5, 9) to the towing vehicle. Length changes of the steering shaft steer the trailer wheels to guide the rear portion of the trailer from-side-to-side for selective turn-positioning of the trailer wheels.

  • Patent number: 6178728
Abstract: A pair of implements such as hay windrow fluffers are interconnected by a hitch assembly allowing for positioning the fluffers in a side-by-side field position or trailing transport position. A tongue assembly on the second implement is connected to the tongue assembly on the first implement when the implements are in a field position. An extendable linkage interconnects the implements and extends laterally when the implements are in a field position and parallel to the line of travel when the implements are in the transport position. The linkage has vertical posts at opposite ends which connect to the tongue assemblies of the implements to allow the linkage to extend over the front first implement when in the transport position.
