Abstract: A harvest header apparatus for harvesting a first crop in a field while preventing damage to a second later crop planted in the same field. A header table with a knife mounted along a lower front edge thereof has a plurality of crop shields attached to and spaced along the header table at a selected shield spacing, each crop shield extending forward from a rear portion thereof located under the knife to a forward end thereof located forward of the knife. A forward portion of each crop shield slopes upward such that crop plants contacted by the forward portion of each crop shield are pushed downward and pass under the knife without contacting the knife. The shield spacing is selected so the crop shields move along rows of second crop and push the second crop plants down and under the table such that same are not contacted by the knife.

Abstract: A crop lifter apparatus has a base member adapted to be attached to a cutting header guard finger about a lifter pivot axis. A plurality of lifter tips with different configurations are releasably attachable to the base member at a mounting position such that the attached lifter tip extends forward from the base member. A bias element is operative to exert a bias force on the base member urging a front portion of the base member forward of the lifter pivot axis to pivot downward about the lifter pivot axis, and the bias force urges the base member to bear against a stop. The tips can be configured to suit various conditions of soils and crops.

Abstract: A seed pan apparatus for attachment to a cutting header having a knife and cooperating knife guards mounted along a lower front edge thereof includes a seed pan adapted at a front portion thereof for attachment to a guard finger such that when attached, the seed pan extends upward and rearward from a front portion of the seed pan forward of the guard finger over the guard finger and knife to a rear end thereof located rearward of the knife. Side walls extend upward from side edges of the seed pan, and side edges of the seed pan diverge from a front end to the rear end. The seed pan is configured such that when the seed pan is attached to the guard finger, side edges of the seed pan are located between the attached guard finger and an adjacent guard finger on each side.

Abstract: A crop lifter for a mower of a harvesting machine with at least one mowing finger (2) has a carrier rail (5) and a stalk lifter (8). A first end (6) of the carrier rail (5) can be fixed to the mower. The stalk lifter (8) is connected to a second end (7) of the carrier rail (5). The stalk lifter (8), together with the carrier rail (5), encloses an acute angle.

Abstract: A crop accessory apparatus comprises a header latch member adapted for attachment to a guard bolt on a cutting header such that a rear wall of the header latch member slopes rearward from a distal end thereof and toward the header. A crop accessory has an accessory latch member at a rear end thereof comprising a spring element defining an aperture and biased toward the header, wherein during engagement the distal end of the header latch member moves into the aperture and a rear edge of the aperture is urged down the sloping rear wall and rearward, urging the accessory rearward into closer engagement with the header. A lateral retention groove in the sloping rear wall is operative to prevent the rear edge of the aperture in the spring element from sliding up and off the header latch member.

Abstract: The crop lifter and air assist feeding assembly for a floating cutter bar header includes a lower tube that is generally horizontal. An upper tube is fixed to the front end of the horizontal tube and extends upwardly and rearwardly to an air discharge orifice. A vine lifting rod is attached to the upper tube. The lower tube is mounted under a knife guard. A skid plate connected to the cutter bar has an attached terminal air supply tube. The terminal air supply tube passes through a front portion of the skid plate and attaches to the lower tube. An elastic and flexible tube is positioned above the skid plate, and is connected to the terminal supply tube and to terminal air supply tube and a blower air delivery tube under the skid plate.

Abstract: A flexing crop lifter apparatus includes a finger recess portion configured to receive a forward end of a guard finger, and a securing portion is adapted for attachment to the cutting header. A ski mounting plate extends rearward and downward from the finger recess portion under an attached guard finger. A ski member is attached at a rear end thereof to a rear end of the ski mounting plate and extends forward under the ski mounting plate and curves upward at a front end thereof. A lifting arm extends rearward from the front end of the ski member back and over a knife of the cutting header when the apparatus is attached to the guard finger. The ski member and the ski mounting plate are configured to flex.

Abstract: A crop stalk guide assembly for use on a crop gathering header cutterbar of a crop harvesting machine includes a support framework and a plurality of flat guide plates. The support framework is attachable to the cutterbar of the crop gathering header so as to extend forwardly from below the sickle guards and a sickle of the cutterbar. The flat guide plates are attached on the top of a forward portion of the support framework so as to extend above the cutterbar sickle guards and sickle. The guide plates are spaced laterally from one another so as to define elongated passageways between them running in the direction of forward travel and leading rearwardly between the sickle guards to the sickle of the cutterbar.

Abstract: Conventionally, such lifters are relatively long and cause problems with control of the header and proper lifting of the crops without shattering or shelling occurring. The present lifter is relatively short and is bolted to the header using one the bolts attaching the knife guard to the header. The head is floating so that the lifter rides just on the surface and just in front of the guard so that it picks up the crop and lifts them over the knife assembly and onto the header.

Abstract: Holding means for grain lifters, support skids or the like for fastening the latter to the cutter mechanism of a harvesting machine, comprising a device provided at one end of the flat support leg to be secured to the mower cutter bar and a retention bracket provided in spaced relationship from the one end on the support leg and embracing, if necessary under bias, the cutter finger, wherein said retention bracket includes two legs provided on each side of said cutter finger, and a locking device connecting said two legs and overlapping said cutter finger.

Abstract: The invention relates to a grain lifter for the cutter mechanisms of harvesters having a support leg of solid flat material which carries on one of the ends thereof the stalk lifting bar and at the other end thereof is secured, by means of a holder embracing the mower finger tip, to the mower finger and to the mower finger holder, wherein said support leg is stiffened by having a non-linear cross-section within the part of the support leg which is fixed to the holder which embraces the mower finger tip.

Abstract: A grain lifter for a corn reaping machine comprising a supporting rod to be fixed on the reaper pointing in the direction of motion as well as a lifting bar upwardly and backwardly sloping from the tip of said supporting rod, which has a shape conically tapering from its fastening point on said supporting rod and consisting of a profiled portion which preferably having a U-shaped cross secton with the legs down.
