Patent number: 11570950Abstract: A crop head for a harvester includes a folding frame having a first frame portion and a second frame portion configured to be folded in a transport state and unfolded in a harvesting state. The first and second frame portions are lockable with respect to each other to inhibit folding and unlockable with respect to each other to allow folding. A plurality of crop dividers is supported by the first frame portion. The plurality of crop dividers includes at least one movable crop divider that is movable with respect to the first frame portion. The crop head also includes a cylinder and a piston movable with respect to the cylinder. The piston is operable to move the movable crop divider between the first and second positions and is configured to directly engage the first and second frame portions to lock the first and second frame portions with respect to each other.Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 2020Date of Patent: February 7, 2023Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Eric D. Patent number: 11234371Abstract: A divider of a header for an agricultural vehicle including a divider body, a receiving member configured for being connected to the frame of the header, and an adjustable connector positionable in between an unfolded work position and a folded transport position. The adjustable connector includes a first member, a second member, and an articulating joint for pivotally connecting the first and second members. The first member mounts the divider body, the second member is slidably connected to and received within the receiving member, and the articulating joint is at least partially received within the receiving member in the unfolded work position such that the first and second members are substantially immobilized and the articulating joint is positioned outside of the receiving member in the folded transport position such that the first and second members are movable relative to one another.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: CNH Industrial America LLCInventor: Douglas D. Patent number: 6513313Abstract: A support structure for a divider of an agricultural corn head that includes a first tension member that is pivotally attached to a second tension member. A stop is provided which prevents the lines of tension of the first and second tension members from aligning. The tension assembly can therefore buckle upwards when an object underneath the support structure is struck. A lateral support for the divider is also provided with a clearance opening for the tension assembly. The divider can be rotated rearward into a transport or a service position and securely locked in place. A shipping position is provided in which the support structure can be rotated rearward by disconnecting the tension assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2000Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Assignee: Case, LLCInventor: Kelvin E. Patent number: 6085505Abstract: An industrial vehicle includes a frame, a motive device mounted on the frame, a platform mounted on the frame adjacent to the motive device, a main boom member associated with an industrial implement, the main boom member being coupled to the platform, and at least one secondary boom member attached to the main boom member. The industrial vehicle may comprise in one embodiment tilting structure that tilts the platform about an axis substantially perpendicular to a driving direction of the vehicle, or at least one pivot defining at least one axis about which the main boom member and/or the secondary boom member pivot, the at least one axis being substantially perpendicular to a driving direction of the vehicle. A linkage may be provided that pivots at least one of the main boom member and the at least one secondary boom member about an axis substantially perpendicular to a driving direction of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1998Date of Patent: July 11, 2000Assignee: Advanced Contracting and Hedging, Inc.Inventor: John W. Patent number: 5832706Abstract: A hedger includes a raisable platform, a telescoping main boom member pivotably attached at one end to the platform, and at least a first boom member pivotably attached to and extending in a first direction from an opposite end of the main boom member. The first boom member rotatably supports at least one cutting blade. A second boom member is pivotably attached to an end portion of the first boom member and extends in a second direction from the opposite end of the main boom member. The second boom member also rotatably supports at least one cutting blade. The first and second boom members of the hedger are pivotable relative to each other and relative to the main boom member. As a result, the structure of the invention enables multiple cutting blade configurations or profiles. Moreover, the platform includes structure enabling the main boom member to achieve a substantially horizontal attitude.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1995Date of Patent: November 10, 1998Assignee: Advanced Contracting and Hedging, Inc.Inventor: John W. Patent number: 4887419Abstract: The lifter apparatus of variable geometry, for harvesting crops which are leaning over which is adaptable to the cutter bars of harvesting machines and can assume a position of repose or a working position. The lifter includes a lifter element (1) capable of assuming various positions, two rocker bars (5, 6), connecting devices between the lifter element (1) and a support element (9), and a system for return (12) of the element (9). The lifter element (1) includes a slot (2), in which a swivel shaft (3) of one of the rocker bars (5) can slide. In the position of repose, the shaft (3) is located at one end of the slot (2), and in the working position, the shaft (3) is located toward the other end of the slot (2). The lifter is intended to remain permanently on the machine (position of repose) or to work (working position) under difficult conditions, and to slide under a very flattened or leaning crops and lift the same.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1988Date of Patent: December 19, 1989Inventor: Gerard Bouin
