Abstract: A fruit extractor including a container having an open top, blade slidably connected to said open top, such that said blade covers said open top in a closed position and uncovers said open top in a retracted position, a pole connected to said container, a retraction arm connected to said blade and pivotally connected to said pole, and a retraction line connected to said retraction arm for moving said arm to a retracted position.
Abstract: An improvement on pruning shears which allows the user to quickly saw off branches and keep debris confined during use of the shears so that clean up operations after pruning are made in a shorter time and with less effort.
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, an apparatus for harvesting produce, pruning, trimming, or the like, the apparatus including: an elongate tubular member; a cutting assembly disposed at the distal end of the elongate tubular member, the cutting assembly being selectively positionable such that the plane of cutting thereof can form an acute angle with the major axis of the elongate tubular member either above or below the major axis; and a first actuating members spaced apart from the distal end of the tubular member such as to remotely actuate the cutting assembly.
Abstract: A device for harvesting fruit for biological entities such as a tree or bush utilizing a frame member. The frame member includes a first cutting edge portion and a second cutting edge portion which is linked to the frame member. The first and second cutting edge portions are positioned adjacent one another and form a converging channel which is capable of severing attachment of the fruit attached to the tree. Handle means is also included for permitting the user to grip the frame member and capture fruit in the channel portion formed by the first and second cutting edges.

Abstract: A portable hand-operated fruit picker for mounting on a telescoping pole having a container or bag at one end thereof for receiving the fruit when removed from a tree. The portable hand-operated fruit picker consists primarily of a telescoping pole, a first hoop member fixed to the distal end of the upper section of the telescoping pole, a second hoop member pivotally mounted to the upper section of the telescoping pole adjacent its distal end, a container or bag fixed to the second hoop member, and a member for actuating the second hoop member relative to the first hoop member to facilitate the fruit picking process.
Abstract: A pruning tool is provided that allows the individual operating the tool to make flush cuts of vegetative growth to stems and branches having a wide range of directions of the extension with respect to the point at which the individual is standing, without moving from that point. The pruning tool includes a cutting head, a pole, and operating mechanism including a cord extending down the pole from the cutting head, and a connection between the cutting head and the pole that allows relative angular movement between the cutting head and the pole. The connection may be a coil spring. The operating mechanism includes a 3-pulley system, one of the pulleys being mounted within the pole. A readily moveable sleeve mounted on the pole allows the flexible connection between the pole and the cutting head to be rendered inoperative if desired.
