Abstract: A wireless communication system for agricultural vehicles, in which each vehicle has a global positioning system (GPS), a multi-channel transmitter/receiver module having a limited communication range, and a signal processor connected to the transmitter/receiver module. The transmitter is controlled by the signal processor to transmit on a predetermined communication channel a signal comprising a unique vehicle identifier and a signal indicating the current positional coordinates of the vehicle. The signal processor also analyzes the signals received from other vehicles within the communication range and determines from the identifier and the positional coordinates data when another vehicle is ready to perform a joint operation with the vehicle. Prior to initiation of a joint operation, the communication system is switched to a different communication channel.
Abstract: An apparatus for the harvesting and collecting of plant materials from the tops of the plants, such as a corn plant, or other types of crops, above the ear(s), either before, during or after pollination, sweet corn harvesting time or at the black layer, while the stalk is still alive, and has most of its moisture, or at any advantageous time in the growing cycle and collect such plant materials for livestock feed, fuels, sugars or other nutrients, and or for any other useful purpose.
Abstract: The method is for harvesting a crop. A harvesting device (10) is provided that has an upper harvesting device (16) and a lower harvesting device (16) . The upper harvesting device is in front of the lower harvesting device. The upper harvesting device detaches crop sections (24) of stalk sections (26) of crops (18) . An intermediate engagement member (42) bends the stalk sections forwardly and the lower harvesting device cuts root sections (48) of the crops.

Abstract: A two-row cane harvester 10 simultaneously harvests two rows of sugar cane in a green tropical cane field. Gatherer chains 62, 64 lift fallen cane stalks upwardly and support the fallen cane stalks as the harvester 10 moves through the cane field. A pair of topper mechanisms 54 top the cane stalks while base cutters 80 base cut the cane. A pair of transversely spaced turnaround devices 62 each move the cane transversely past the respective topper mechanism and toward a centerline 22 of the harvester, and thrust the topped cane stalks in a direction away from the harvester movement such that the topped cane stalks do not interfere with the cane moving toward the topper mechanisms by the gatherer chains. Base cut cane is received base first into the harvester intake.
Abstract: A device for separating the shoot tips of sugar-cane plants for multi-row sugar-cane harvesting machines. The device includes feed-and-cutting-elements mounted in front of a trough-like table having a cross-conveyor worm which receives the tip portions and conveys them to the side. The feed-and-cutting-elements have two feed discs equipped with prongs which interact respectively with a respective cutting disc.
Abstract: A cutting device used for cutting branches or canes which comprises a fixed cutter which is attached to a frame detachably mounted on the side portion of a moving body such as a tractor and is provided with cutting edges being in parallel or oblique with the direction of advancing, and moving guides or rotary cutters having a plurality of pushing members or claws to push said branches or canes toward said cutting edges, and with said cutting device, the cutting operation of branches or canes can be facilitated even when they are thick ones.
