    Abstract: A method and apparatus for harvesting and treating tobacco in which the tobacco plants are automatically defoliated as a harvester moves through a field. The tobacco leaves are discharged in a random haphazard manner into a large bulk container where the leaves are secured in position and then the containers are placed within a treating barn and the leaves are cured.
