Abstract: Disclosed are compounds and methods of using compounds of the invention for treating a subject with a proliferative disorder, such as cancer, and methods for treating disorders responsive to Hsp70 induction and/or natural killer induction. Also, disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising compounds of the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
Abstract: Methods for controlling atmospheric corrosion of a metallic surface including coating the metallic surface with a coating material containing at least one compound having at least one thioamide group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to N-carbonyl anilines which are intermediates for the preparation of pesticidal 1-aryl imidazoles and to processes for making them.
Abstract: Disclosed are novel compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein: R is ##STR2## where Ph is phenyl, or ##STR3## X is --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 or --OR.sub.7 ; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, cyclohexyl, ##STR4## butyl, or heptyl; R.sub.4 is o-phenylene or p-phenylene and R.sub.4 can be alkyl- halo- or alkoxy- substituted;R.sub.3 is hydrogen;R.sub.5, R.sub.6, and R.sub.7 are independently hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, tert-butyl, isobutyl, butyl, alkoxy, acyl, acylamino, aryl, amino, cyclohexyl, aminoalkyl and substituted or unsubstituted phenylamino;Y is sulfur and oxygen atom; and n is zero or 1; provided n=1 when Y is sulfur.
Abstract: This invention relates to the synthesis of N-(monosubstituted)dithiooxamides by the transamination of dithiooxamide. Preferred methods, according to the present invention, take advantage of the discovery that yields of N-(monosubstituted)dithiooxamides can be improved in the Wallach Reaction by: controlling the temperature of the reaction mixture; optimizing the initial concentration of the reactants; adding an effective amount of acid in the quenching or processing procedure; and/or, optionally, adding an effective amount of certain nitrogen bases to the reaction mixture.

Abstract: Disclosed are novel compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein: X=--NR.sub.5 R.sub.6, or --OR.sub.7 ;R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl alkoxyalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl or arylalkyl having up to 18 carbons, cycloalkyl; phenyl or naphthyl; alkylphenyl, cyanophenyl, halophenyl or alkoxyphenyl substituents;R.sub.3 is hydrogen, benzyl, alkoxybenzyl, halobenzyl or alkylbenzyl, provided that if neither R.sub.1 nor R.sub.2 is hydrogen, then R.sub.3 is hydrogen;R.sub.4 is a divalent aromatic group which is substituted or unsubstituted;R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylaminoalkyl, acylaminoalkyl, aminoalkyl or phenylalkyl having up to 12 carbons; a cycloalkyl substitutent; phenyl or naphthyl; an alkylphenyl, cyanophenyl, halophenyl or alkoxyphenyl substituent;Furthermore, either R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 or R.sub.1 and R.sub.
Abstract: A compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl;R.sup.1 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy;R.sup.2 is amino, alkanoyl, ##STR2## R.sup.3 is alkyl or dialkylamino; andR.sup.4 is hydrogen or alkylwith the proviso that when R.sup.2 is amino or alkanoyl, R.sup.1 is alkyland or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, being useful as gastric disorder remedies or antiemetics are provided via several routes.
Abstract: A composition capable of reducing image-offset when used in combination with color-forming compounds which are capable of forming colored images with color-developing coreactants. The composition comprises an aliphatic tertiary amine image-offset control agent. Color-forming compounds such as dithiooxamide, dithiooxamide derivatives and certain aromatic substituted hydrazones, may also be included in the composition. The invention when employed in the art of carbonless paper enables the production of dark, black images in areas of a paper substrate containing color-forming compositions and transition metal color-developing compositions, without image-offsetting in areas not containing both the color-forming compound and the color-developing compound, even upon stacking color-forming compound containing sheets on top of color-developing compound containing sheets.
