Patent number: 10960386Abstract: Method and catalyst for producing methylbenzyl alcohol from ethanol by catalytic conversion. A route and corresponding catalysts for directly producing methylbenzyl alcohols through catalytic conversion starting from ethanol, providing an important alternative route for increasing the production of aromatic oxygenates. The selectivity of the methylbenzyl alcohols is up to 60%. At the same time, the prepared catalysts have excellent stability. Moreover, this innovative reaction route produces hydrogen as co-product without CO, thus can be directly used in chemical reactions and fuel cells. In addition, the route also produces high carbon number alcohols which can be used as fuels or oil additives to partially replace petroleum-based products, thus partly reducing the dependence on petroleum.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2018Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: DALIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGYInventors: Anhui Lu, Wencui Li, Qingnan Wang

The invention provides compositions comprising said repellent and attractants and methods for control of codling moth in fruit, preferably apple, orchards.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2005Publication date: February 4, 2010Applicants: Efal Chemical Industries Ltd., Yissum Research Industries Development Company of the Hebrew University of JerusalemInventors: Oded Shoseyov, Shu Wei, Israel Fluksman

Patent number: 7576227Abstract: Integrated processes of preparing industrial chemicals starting from seed oil feedstock compositions containing one or more unsaturated fatty acids or unsaturated fatty acid esters, which are essentially free of metathesis catalyst poisons, particularly hydroperoxides; metathesis of the feedstock composition with a lower olefin, such as ethylene, to form a reduced chain olefin, preferably, a reduced chain ?-olefin, and a reduced chain unsaturated acid or ester, preferably, a reduced chain ?,?-unsaturated acid or ester. The reduced chain unsaturated acid or ester may be (trans)esterified to form a polyester polyolefin, which may be epoxidized to form a polyester polyepoxide. The reduced chain unsaturated acid or ester may be hydroformylated with reduction to produce an ?,?-hydroxy acid or ?,?-hydroxy ester, which may be (trans)esterified with a polyol to form an ?,?polyester polyol.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2003Date of Patent: August 18, 2009Assignee: Union Carbide Chemicals & Plastics Technology CorporationInventors: Zenon Lysenko, Bob R. Publication number: 20090143585Abstract: The current invention provides novel bifunctional catalysts. The bifunctional catalysts are prepared from phosphine ligands and a cyclopentadienyl metal complex and are useful for forming isomers of hydrocarbon species. The hydrocarbon can be an alkenol having the alkene and alcohol groups far apart and the catalyst will move the double bond across numerous carbon atoms. The hydrocarbon can also be an achiral alkenol and the catalyst will form a chiral alcohol therefrom. Moreover, deuterated water may be added to the isomerization reaction mixture for forming deuterated hydrocarbon species.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2006Publication date: June 4, 2009Inventor: Douglas Grotjahn
