Abstract: A mechanism for spinning fibrous material to yarn employing the ‘ring spinning process’ on a powered ring frame unit. The device can be adjusted and fixed for the thread count in production. The spinning cone reciprocating up and down to take up the spun yarn, thus ensuring most optimum geometry between the drafting roller and the spinning ring, adjustable at will. Each spinning cone on the entire frame being independent of each other in drive, speed and distance from the drafting assembly. Computers using a new software control the entire process. The described mechanism reduces power consumption, mechanical vibration and material breakage, consequently increasing productivity of the process and quality of the product.

Abstract: For an air spinning frame, reluctance motors are provided for each spinning place to drive the pairs of rollers of the drafting unit, the drawing-off means, and the friction roller. Thereby, for the run-up of a spinning place, e.g., after a thread break, a specific frequency converter is provided. After reaching the stationary operating speed, a switch over onto a further frequency converter takes place, at which time, the corresponding reluctance motors of the other spinning places are driven in parallel. By the use of reluctance motors it can be done without a complex speed regulation means. A specific dimensioning of the reluctance motors permits a very fast run-up and a particularly good efficiency during the stationary operation.

The electronic computer (40) is associated with a keyboard and screen unit (43) for the programming and interrogation of the computers. An electrical power supply line (35) is linked to the external panel and the mechanism for supply and control of the external components of the twisting machine are provided in this panel.

  • Patent number: 5548950
Abstract: A shaftless spinning rotor for an open-end spinning machine advantageously protects the rotational bearing components in a combined magnetic-gas bearing management by utilizing a concentric magnet arrangement for the generation of a magnetic field for guiding the rotor relative to the stator, wherein a first dynamically balanced magnet unit projects from one of two opposed bearing faces on the rotor and the stator and a corresponding dynamically balanced magnet unit is recessed in the opposite bearing surface, the magnet units being dimensioned to produce an axial as well as a radial air gap therebetween. Air nozzles for producing the gas bearing open into the recessed area. The air gap in the area of the central axis can be embodied to be wider than the air gap between the opposed bearing faces.

  • Patent number: 5537810
Abstract: In order to improve the smoothness of operation of a shaftless spinning rotor embodied as the rotor of an axial field motor wherein the rotor is supported by a magnetic gas bearing, a guide magnet arrangement for generating a magnetic guiding field is decoupled mechanically from the drive component of the stator. To that end, separate magnet and stator components are connected to one another by means having both elastic and damping properties, e.g., rubber. This mechanical decoupling makes it possible for the separate components to execute vibration independently of one another and for vibration to be transmitted from one component to another only in highly attenuated form. Hence, machine vibration can substantially be prevented from affecting the smoothness of rotor operation. Tangential forces generated by harmonics and radial forces caused by magnetic or mechanical asymmetries can likewise be absorbed by the stator, with an attendant improvement in smoothness of rotor operation.

Abstract: To reduce the moment of inertia and eliminate variations in speed of two xial, driven shafts, in which an outer shaft (8) surrounds a central spindle (2), which is particularly important for coiling filament material used in electric lamps, the motors are formed as essentially identical permanent-magnet rotor motors, in which permanent magnets are securely affixed to the central spindle and the surrounding shaft (8), respectively, the stators of which are retained in a common housing (6). The outer shaft carries a supply reel (3) for the filament to be coiled, whereas the inner shaft carries a winding head (7) and a reciprocating deflection roller arrangement for winding the filaments. A typical speed of operation is 1.5 seconds to wind a filament and 0.2 second pause between sequential filaments. Such filaments can be used, for example, in a general-service 60 W lamp.

Abstract: A frictional false twisting unit including a plurality of driven shafts, a driven pulley on one of the shafts, an externally arranged motor with a drive shaft, an endless loop toothed belt between the drive shaft and the driven pulley. The shafts are on a carriage or base plate which is moveable or swingable with respect to either the motor or a base plate on which the motor is disposed. The shaft carrying base plate or carriage is movable to slacken the toothed belt, enabling removal of the driven pulley from the toothed belt and removal of the shafts from the unit. The thread monitoring devices of the unit remain with the unit while the shafts are removed. Channels for the lateral runs of the toothed belt prevent excessive spread of the belt when it is slack and when the driven pulley is removed. A guide beneath the belt prevents the belt from moving down axially when the belt is slack and the driven pulley is removed.
