  • Patent number: 11649571
Abstract: A method for monitoring air flows required for handling a thread and/or fiber band in a spinning machine, and to a spinning machine unit. At least one air flow-generating source is connected to an air flow duct. An air volume flow measuring unit is connected to an evaluation device for data transmission. The air volume flow is measured by the air volume flow measuring unit and the measurement result is transmitted to the evaluation device. The number of productive and/or non-productive spinning positions is detected. An air volume flow target value is determined by the evaluation device. The air volume flow target value is compared with actual value of the measured air volume flow by the evaluation device, the evaluation device making an evaluation on the basis of the comparison as to whether there is an unacceptable deviation between the actual value and the air volume flow target value.

  • Patent number: 7856803
Abstract: A connection for connecting steel cord ends to one another is described. The connection solves the problem of filaments that break off at the connection during handling of the cord. In the inventive connection a fixation section is introduced before or after the jointing section. The fixation section immobilizes the filaments relative to one another. A method to make such a connection is also described. The connection and the method turn out to be extremely useful for connecting steel cords of the open type.

Abstract: An elastic core fiber is caught to prevent production of a core yarn having no elastic core fiber. In a method for producing a core yarn by supplying a sliver to a drafting device in a predetermined amount and merging a core fiber with the sliver, the sliver is supplied to the drafting device in an amount greater than the predetermined amount over a predetermined period of time after spinning is started, so as to merge with the core fiber, and thereafter, the sliver is supplied to the drafting device in the predetermined amount. Preferably, the amount of sliver that is supplied to the drafting device is changed in accordance with the rotational speed of predetermined draft rollers in the drafting device.

Abstract: A yarn cleaner for cleaning defects from a yarn, by means of a head for measuring at least one yarn parameter for comparison against cleaning limits determined for the yarn parameter. If the cleaning limits are exceeded, a defect in the yarn is indicated whereby intolerable defects may be cut out from the yarn. The yarn cleaner is set up for cleaning an effect yarn, also called a novelty or fancy yarn, formed from an alternating thinner webs and thickened effects in the yarn. At least one value of the yarn parameter is predetermined for webs and for effects and the cleaning limits of the yarn cleaner are adjusted such that they lie outside the predetermined value of the web parameter and outside the predetermined value of the effect parameter.
