  • Patent number: 9227284
Abstract: The inside of a case of a rotary table device is divided into a first space and a second space. The pressure of the first space is regulated to a pressure higher than the pressure of the second space during a steady state. The relationship between the pressures is reversed at a certain timing, to make the pressure of the second space higher than the pressure of the first space. Such operation can forcibly close a check valve disposed between the first space and the second space on regular basis, thereby preventing a malfunction of the check valve.

Abstract: A dust prevention mechanism of a spindle device that ensures prevention of cutting liquid etc. from entering an inner portion of the spindle device, which saves energy and reduces noise upon stop of rotation of a spindle is provided. In a dust prevention mechanism 1, a spindle device 2 starts operating upon a command from a controller 4. Then, a 2-port solenoid valve 7 is opened to supply a predetermined amount of compressed air into the inner portion of the spindle device 2. In contrast, the spindle stops rotating upon a command from the controller 4. The controller 4 closes the 2-port solenoid valve 7, while it opens a 2-port solenoid valve 10 in a bypass route B. The controller 4 supplies compressed air, whose amount is reduced by a diaphragm 9, into the inner portion of the spindle device 2 during a predetermined time set by a timer 8.

  • Patent number: 6948303
Abstract: A process is disclosed for a spinning arrangement for dealing with the correction of an end break. During operation, sliver-like fiber material fed to the spinning arrangement is opened to single fibers by means of an opening roller. The single fibers are then transferred in the form of a fiber veil to a suctioned collecting surface, which is driven in the direction of motion of the single fibers. During the transport of the fibers by means of the collecting surface, the fiber veil is condensed to a narrow fiber strand and the condensed fiber strand is spun to a yarn downstream of a nipping line by means of a twisting nozzle. When an end-break occurs, the material feed is interrupted and the fiber strand is suctioned in the area of the nipping line until the collecting surface is free from single fibers. A piecing operation subsequently takes place.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for the in-line pre-impregnation of glass or synthetic fibers with a non-aqueous chemical treatment. The apparatus includes a first applicator for applying a curable, non-aqueous chemical treatment agent and a second applicator for applying a curing agent for the chemical treatment agent. The fibers are passed over the first and second applicators which are arranged either in parallel or in series, and are then joined by a gathering device to initiate curing of the chemical treatment agent on the fibers. In an alternative embodiment, the apparatus comprises a spray gun in which a mixture of the non-aqueous chemical treatment agent and curing agent are sprayed onto an applicator roll in contact with the fibers.

  • Patent number: 5694756
Abstract: When an open-end rotor spinning device is stopped, a short yarn end is produced. For this, and in synchronization with the interruption of fiber feeding to the opener device (116), the fibers which continue to be combed out of the leading end of the fiber sliver (2), as well as the fibers still present in the clothing of the opener device (116), are prevented from continuing to accumulate on the fiber collection surface (136) of the spinning rotor (13). To carry out this process, the device (115) for the stoppage of the fiber feeding device (110) is connected to a control device (3) by means of which a device (134, 135, 172, 173) for the shortening of the yarn end can be switched on temporarily as the spinning device (11) is stopped.

  • Patent number: 5640839
Abstract: A method of spinning-in yarn on open-end spinning machines in which an interruption of the spinning process is followed by the stop of the feed of the sliver (4) into the singling-out device (2) whose combing roller (22) keeps turning, and the rotor is stopped at least during its cleaning. When the rotor (1) has re-started the yarn end is returned to it and brought into contact with the newly formed fiber band. Prior to the re-starting of the rotor (1) and at the latest simultaneously with the start of the feed device (3) of the sliver (4), the surface of the combing roller (22) is acted upon by a pressure air stream acting in the sense of rotation of the combing roller (22) between the place of supply of the sliver (4) to the combing roller (22) and the mouth of the fiber feed channel (212) to the rotor (1) so as to remove from the clothing (221) of the combing roller (22) fibers and sticking impurities. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 5535580
Abstract: A process and device for piecing in an open-end spinning device includes switching on a fiber feeding device for a predetermined period of time so that fibers which are undesired for piecing are combed out of the leading end of the fiber sliver which is presented to an opener device. The combed out fibers are deflected from the fiber collection surface. The fiber feeding device is switched off after the predetermined period of time once the undesired fibers have been combed out and is maintained in an off condition for a short period of time so that the fibers remaining in the leading end of the fiber silver are only minimally damaged by the opener device. The fiber feeding device is switched back on and the fiber stream is deflected from the fiber collection surface as the stream increases to full strength. The fiber stream is subsequently deflected to the fiber collection surface for piecing in coordination with backfeeding of a yarn end to the fiber collection surface.

  • Patent number: 5454219
Abstract: A housing encloses a rotor, an opening roller, and a conduit communicating between the rotor and opening roller for the feeding of fiber from the opening roller to the rotor. The housing forms a trash removal chamber below the opening roller into which trash is discharged toward the bottom of the chamber during operation of the opening roller; the area of the opening roller where the trash is discharged is the trash outlet opening. The rotation of the opening roller creates an air flow draft in the direction of rotation. This air flow draft, taken in combination with suction applied in the rotor of the open-end spinning unit, creates an air flow suction draft from the chamber through the conduit in the direction of the opening roller rotation. An air flow is provided in the trash removal chamber in and from the chamber in a direction counter to the direction of the air flow draft rotating with the opening roller in the region of the trash outlet opening.
