Abstract: A gripper for electrical or optical lines (24, 24?) such as wires, cables, line bundles, optical fibres has two gripper jaws (22, 22?) movable relative to a counterbearing as well as relative to one another. Twisting heads (4) for twisting apparatuses for the lines (24, 24?) are equipped with such grippers. The gripper and the twisting head (4) and the twisting apparatus are provided with a drive arrangement including at least one adjustable-force drive (17) that acts via a link chain (15, 19, 19?, 20, 20?) on gripper jaw (22, 22?). The link chain (15, 19, 19?, 20, 20?) in this case has a section (19, 19?) movable parallel to the drive (17), but in the opposite direction of movement.
Abstract: High capacity spool with built-in balloon control head (1) and folding system consisting of a spool composed of a balloon control head (1), a central tube (2) and a base (3) and of a folding system adjusted to this spool in two stages, a first stage in which a support cone for the second stage is obtained. The result obtained on the spool is a format whose final appearance is that of the so-called bottle type, although this fold differs from the habitual bottle fold, appropriate for any kind of material.
Abstract: An improved spindle top having between 3 and 8 fingers together in association with yarn-catching, yarn-directing grooves provides advantages in the manufacture of spun yarns. The improved top reduces ends down by reducing tension upstream of the spindle top, and the improved top is also believed to reduce the amplitude of tension surges which occur as the yarn rolls from one catch point on the spindle top to another.
Abstract: The rotary yarn guide for cooperating with a spindle in a textile machine comprises an externally cylindrical, hollow guide member 4 having inlet and outlet ends for guiding the yarn, a ball bearing 7 surrounding the guide member and having inner and outer races 8 and 9, the inner race being rigid with the guide member, a permanent magnet 6 for cooperating with a spindle in order to rotate the guide member, a magnet-supporting member 5 for securing the permanent magnet with the guide member, and an outer casing 13 fixed to the outer race of said ball bearing.

Abstract: Spindle for the spinning or twisting of threads on ring spinning and/or ring twisting machines providing reduced thread ballooning with a spindle head seated on the spindle shaft, said head picking up the thread upon rotation thereof via thread catchers situated on said head, wherein the thread catchers basically consist of outwardly positioned vertical, cylindrical pins which are connected to an inwards positioned cylindrical body via a radial connecting piece and the thread catchers at least partly project over the central body, wherein the highest point of the thread catcher lies between the central body and the periphery of the spindle head.
Abstract: In the spinning or twisting of continuous fibrous material at a spinning or twisting frame station comprising a spindle for carrying a bobbin, a ring concentrically mounted about the spindle and supporting a traveler for guiding the fibrous material onto the bobbin and means for driving the ring and the spindle, the improvement comprising engaging the fibrous material at the head of the spindle thereby to reduce or eliminate ballooning of the fibrous material and rotating the ring at a lesser rate that the spindle thereby to decrease the tension on the yarn.
